Well my car has less than 2k miles on it, but has nothing to do with being a flipper (would have sold at the height in that case) or not running it in correctly / being careful. Maybe I'm the exception to the rule, but at this stage, either a car is tucked away with delivery miles (mine is on the drive), or already flipped by that logic.

What needs to stabilise? Exotics will always have a faster turnover, owners like to try different things with possibly more financial flexibility to do so. They sell for more than list, so free driving for a year or two, and as new models come along, they get sold for the new shiny thing. Nothing more to it than that.

what is classed as low miles ?

Mine is at 3700 but is close to 2 years old ! (that's low miles for it's age) but still 4000 miles used, but I run 4 cars and cannot drive them all at the same time lol.

I would say quite a few people must have other cars to use if they own a Gt4. Mine is a dry day only car. but I have 2 dry day only cars so yet again it's a choice of 2 if the suns out. if 3k goes on each one PA that 12k miles in total.

cleaning is the big issue hence why 2 of my 4 cars are dry day cars and 2 are any day cars.

Yes you must have gone as I didn't arrive until 11ish!

Must be a flipper as my car only has 2100 miles on the clock had for 18 months which is more miles than my 987 spyder it took me nearly 3.5 years to clock 3700 miles!
I would love to drive mine more but is not practical for my job so weekday use is a no no and my weekends are often busy!

My wife has done about 3500 miles in her GT4. Engine noticeably loosened up around 2500-3000 miles. Pocket rocket!

I love my new 991GTS but i still pine for my recently departed GT4.The only reason i chopped my GT4 in was because i had to in any case when i get my new GT3 in sept/oct and being a busy man i only managed to do 3.5k in 18mths in the GT4.However imo the GT4 is more special the less you use it especially with LWBS.I also have another Porsche for dailies and two other cheaper everyday vehicles so all in all 3.5k in 18mths is realistically my limit anyway.
Changing ones cars often keeps things fresh but expensive however a mere pittance in comparison to changing wives often which by all accounts can cost millions every time you upgrade..!

There is just something deeply appealing about the GT4...

That would be my dream if I ever move up to that sort of spend value. Can't say it would concern me in the slightest that I didn't get to sell the car for more than I paid for it if it's at the expense of enjoying using the car. I hope you enjoy every second behind the wheel, including those stuck in traffic!

I'm talking of cars that have been put up for sale at that mileage -which if your car is on the drive, presumably it isn't.

Told a good friend (now sadly departed) that I was getting married about 20 years ago. His response was, "That's the easy bit, it's getting unmarried you need to worry about." As I see it, the cost of changing cars is pretty well fixed, so the more money you manage to earn or accumulate, the more you have to spend on cars - cost of the transaction is the same. The problem with changing wives is the more money you earn or accumulate, the more it costs you for the transaction. I've never considered changing, but not only for that reason.

The wife I've got is probably not as easy to live with or forgiving as my old GT86, and the 718 purchase came with some very expensive and probably unnecessary provisos, but I'm aiming to keep costs down until well after my first Porsche GT is in the garage. Not sure a change could be an upgrade anyway, but my wife really doesn't like me owning the sort of car I enjoy!

I share your pain. I get a lot of grief too. I have to wait untill the earache wears off before contemplating another purchase. At least she will drive the 981S when necessary - I doubt if I could get her to be a passenger in one of the GT cars, and even a Caterham would be a struggle.

is that very low miles cars over well speced cars ? ie sub 500 miles still on the clock, of course spec goes with the price, but you can buy a very well spec car for £90k now, so the extra must be in the del mile status.
