currently looking at a few of these.....

their is 2 at romans , looking for under 90k, the best spec possible and as low miles as poss.... Can anyone suggest any they may have seen on their travels???

whats peoples opinion on this one..

https://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/...
It is a nice car however for what its worth in my opinion the ideal spec will have pccb, 918 buckets, leather interior pack with stitching, carbon pack, Nav,and phone.
The car above says it has the leather pack but looking at the pictures it does not seem to have any stitching on the dash. Otherwise it is a very good spec the mileage is a little high but it shows its been used which is not a bad thing. GT4's are price sensitive to mileage but as everyone on here says these should be driven and enjoyed.
Take one out and try it you will be getting a lot of car for the money.

Hi Beedub. That was my car for a very large chunk of those miles. The colour is stunning in the sunlight and looks great with the satin wheels and PCCB's. Spec was around £83k new and I had it fully detailed and G-techniq crystal serum with Exo when I bought it. I sold it to Solihull to buy a 991.1GTS they had and it looks like the last over has done around 2k miles in 10 months so not highly used. Worth having a look at and Chris at Solihull is a really good chap to deal with.

I's got leather insert strips where they would normally put the brushed aluminium trim. Actually works very well. I was dubious at first but I liked it and the lack of a full leather dash didn't bother me. After all it is clubsport with buckets and a cage!

It's a very nice looking car - however as others have said relatively speaking its mileage is higher than most - not an issue if you buy well and keep for some time - colour combo and PCCB's means it will look very good.

However a fellow Ph'r flow99 (see his post July 26th on this thread) intermated that he/she had a car up that was the same combo as this but the mileage was 3500 ish from memory and I think it was a private sale for about £k 86.5 - I tried to find the ad for you and I can't see it, so maybe it's sold - but it may be worth sending him (or her?) a PM - you can do this by finding the post (July 26th) and clicking on his / her name.

Good luck

(p.s. : fwiw not a fan of the Sapphire car with the red decals - but that's an aesthetic opinion and nothing else - you can always remove the decals)

That isn't Sapphire, that is Dark Blue Met. Sapphire is stunning with the black decals (check out the Wilmslow car), similar to how yellow works with the same, but not without.

no of course not, but when their are cars with sub 1.5k on them for the same cash.... why not choose them?? i keep my cars for a very long time, so whatever is purchased will be kept 7+ years.

Still own a little z4m i purchased new ( 900 odd miles from memory) from 2007

GREAT info.... thanks for the message... did you get some track time in the car?? ( certainly will be using it for that a few times a year) ...

if i buy i will be the third owner , in a relatively short amount of time, wonder why the last owner swapped out so quickly.

id love a club sport spec, and I'm really liking the contrasting stick work i see on some cars, he all black interiors aren't really doing much for me.... The yellow on picked up by rsvp (sp) would have been perfect for me!!! abit sad i missed the boat on that one!

Apologies - it's yours for £k 100 ... only joking , I mean £k 105.

Obviously kidding , good luck with your search - I'm sure more will be available when the second GT3 allocations get confirmed Sept/Oct - hope you find what you're looking for - I'd PM flow99 that was a lovely car - if "yellow" hadn't have happened that was where I was going next . smile

The original owner was a guy who races Porsches and he had the car for around 4 months, did around 1800 miles and chopped it in for a new UV GT3RS. I bought the car in Feb 16 from the OPC and ran it until August 16 when I sold it with I think 6-6.5k miles. All my miles were road miles and it was my daily car. Unfortunately I had a track day booked with it for September but by that time I had moved on so I did the day in my 991.1GTS instead (still a great car and a great day).

Solihull had the GT4 until around early October I believe when the last owner bought it.

As you can see it's quite easy for these cars to have many owners in a short period of time.

If you are in the area, I would suggest you have a look at the car and make your own mind up on the interiors as the black ones don't photo well & OPC's are not renowned for top photography skill.

With regards to interiors, TBH in a 911 I wouldn't buy one without a leather interior but on a Cayman it has never bothered me too much. The leather trim option added a nicer feel and I never felt it was inferior to a car with full hide.

My last 911 had red contrast stitching and this time I have gone for silver stitching and I think that I prefer the understated looks of the silver to the red or yellow but that's just my opinion.

There's quite a lot of choice out there, so decide what options you cant live without and a enjoy the journey searching for right car.

Thanks for the heads up on my advert, and was a one owner DBM with pccb's, lwb's, pccb etc etc 3600 miles and up at 86.5. Now sold to the Sytner group, and is heading to Porsche Silverstone. Had lots of trade interest, mainly for SOR, and only one private buyer. Would have been a very good buy for someone especially as went for less than the asking.

popped into solihull to see the car with 8k miles... i do like the colour but its not for me, to dark and again the black interior just felt too dark, i really want some colour , but what a lovely place to sit and be..... love the buckets, and i lived the PCCB, the car seemed very used for such low miles , lots of scratches on the sills and oddly on the roll cage too....

i really need to spend some time on a test drive now to really get to grips with the gt4, I'm pretty much sold on the car itself but really need to find the car i fall in love with!

Thankyou very much to the guys that have chimed in and offered advise, really appreciate it!

At least you have seen the car and decided it's not for you. I think this is really important with these cars as spending so much money it has to be right.

I must say, I am shocked about the 'very used' comments. I know when I sold it, the cage wasn't scratched and the sills were in good condition (I am really fussy over things like this). The bucket seats DO wear heavily on the bolster so you need to watch out for this. The leather was creased on this car when I bought it so would not be surprised if they were worn now.

Good luck with your hunt and keep us posted as you see more cars.

Haha funny reading about the modern world ..... used my 64 RS as a DD for 7 years and ran it on track on slicks .... once ran a full tank non stop at Spa ... in the end the whole chassis flexed and groaned ........ now possibly a "2 owner never tracked "garage queen investment ....
Now there is a small creasing in the leather ..... but there are lots of them so guess can be choosey
