The Spyder is definitely a bit more liveable with on a daily basis but the GT4 is more of an event which is what i want from a Sunday morning blast up to the Brecon Beacons which is where i am now, in a lay-by having a coffee while me ears readjust from the onslaught!
Can't say fairer than that Is this Shmee's old car up at OPC Colchester for under £80k http://locator.porsche.com/ipl-customer/ipl/detail...

I'm willing to bet it is as the spec is identical IIRC and the reg year, mileage and OPC all tally unless its a freak coincidence.Armitage.Shanks said:

Yes it is Tim's car. I saw him at the TVR launch and we briefly discussed itFokker said:

It's quite simple really , especially when you have 20 miles of 50mph roadworks. Or you could set it to 60mph and try a full lap of a circuit without touching the pedals
My licence has had a hard time of it over the past 3 years so I use it all the time on the motorway and sit at 77mph!Fokker said:

Watch that.......77 mph 'indicated' in newish Porsches whilst optimistic appears fairly accurate compared to many cars and there is recent evidence to suggest several counties including Cumbria at times operate a zero tolerance speeding policy (as opposed to the widely fictitious 10%+2mph 'guidelines') via their cash cow 'scamera' vans, particularly on the M6.DiscoColin said:
Nothing?
Those who know what they are doing will in such circumstances drive off the track, out of the circuit and a mile and back down the road (briefly slowing to a crawl in the paddock to take off their helmet usually). Depending upon the circuit and the contents of your tank, a red flag is often a cue to go out to top up your fuel. It is only a problem if you are on slicks or have covered or removed the number plates (or your car is otherwise not road legal and was trailered there), though in some cases circuits have car park or paddock areas that have enough space to drive around for a few minutes to get the worst of the peak heat out of the system.
If you come in with your brakes on fire and immediately park up and go for a coffee then any subsequent consequences to the car are still your fault I am afraid.
Correct --- I've done that --- it's just a question of maintaining the airflow and keeping everything moving until it has cooled to a half sensible temperature ...Those who know what they are doing will in such circumstances drive off the track, out of the circuit and a mile and back down the road (briefly slowing to a crawl in the paddock to take off their helmet usually). (PS David - not sure why you think the roof is flawed - it's a doddle to use and judging by the Porsche video I saw showing how to do the roof on the older Spyder it's a work of genius)
Happy driving all
you cannot open the boot when it's up, so if you are away with the other half and it's raining and you drop her off at the hotel, you cannot get the bags out !(PS David - not sure why you think the roof is flawed - it's a doddle to use and judging by the Porsche video I saw showing how to do the roof on the older Spyder it's a work of genius)

It also seems to have a design flaw with a growning amount of rips being posted !
I would rather not talk Spyders on a GT4 thread to be honest.
