Umm as above, yes.

Problem is exactly as you mentioned, where do you go for £85k?

If you have funds to jump into a GT3 then fine, but if your budget is around £85k then there is not much else out there as "special" as a GT4
It's more a question of whether the Gen 1 GT3 is worth the extra, even with available funds

If you can get hold of a late 2015 gen 1 GT3 with the later engine for £125k ish it is easily worth the extra £40k over the excellent GT4 imo.

The cars are chalk and cheese.

The gen 1 GT3 is not far behind the gen 2 and in reality there will be nothing between the two cars for fast road use at least.

Other aspect to consider is the gearbox. Some clearly prefer 'manuel' GT4 but imo the GT3 suits its PDK S only option.......fantastic gearbox imo but not for everyone.

Confirmed by Porsche Zentrum dealer. The wrap was done before the first kilometer of the car.
Would you mind sharing what colour wrap was used?
I get the car next week.

I don’t know exactly what color wrap was used.

May be it will within the document of the car. I keep you updated.

Does anyone know why Schmee's car hasn't sold? It looks really good value, yet it has been around for a long time. It has been reduced a lot, started at over £80k.
It did sell, has had another owner since Tim whom chopped it back to Colchester for another GT car I'm told.

Does anybody have any thoughts on the Carmine red GT4 at JZM? I note that they have chopped £2k off the asking price making it look very reasonable compared to a lot of others on the market. At that price I’m guessing it’s not too far away from list (albeit with 7k of mileage under its belt).

Very good shout. I wonder if they would entertain £75k...
At this time of year it is quite likely

Any news on the 718 gt4? I've seen the nurburgring spy shots and one would assume that its going to get a proper engine.

It's always been a bit of a shame that they made too many GT4s and the prices are really starting to reflect the saturation in the amount of used ones on the market.

It's an interesting one as I only recently had a quick look at prices as I'm thinking of getting a 991.1 gt3 but the GT4 at 70k seems a bit of a steal....?

Made too many? They were oversubscribed, one of the most significant and mass market of the “overs” cars and a source of frustration for many who couldn’t get one. Porsche didn’t build enough to satisfy demand.

Now prices are trending close to original selling price and we say shame? It’s a car not an investment. Buy it, drive it, wear it out a bit, have some fun, sell it for less money.

Well wheat I mean is its not as exclusive as a GT3 and looks to still be depreciating (under new price with options of course) The 991s has a bit of a slip earlier this year but seem to have recovered a bit and a Clubsport seems to be solid at about 130k When you say that out loud I still cant help thinking a CS GT4 has to be a bargain. I always look at whats going to perform for us on the financials too so I wouldnt be looking to loose money on either option.

As mentioned earlier, I have been offered £85k for my CS GT4 to sell but I am struggling to get my head around a CS Gen 1 GT3 at £40k+ over mine to warrant a worthwhile move financially. That's with mine at £85k! Which I know is a strong offer.

I feel the Gen 1 is starting to look and feel a little dated now the Gen 2 is here. For example the GT4 has the same steering wheel, buckets, front LED running lights as the new GT3 and looks more 'up to date' than the Gen 1.

I'm moving more toward holding onto the GT4 for a couple more years before moving to a Gen 2 which will most likely be the last NA GT3 ever with a manual box.

Just hope (I don't think) the value of the 981 GT4 doesn't drop below £60k in 2 - 3 years time.

Yes they did manufacture close to 700 in the uk but I do think that’s the whole problem with prices falling. A lot of these cars were bought by people who only wanted free Sunday motoring for a short period of time or were looking to make a quick profit. This drove prices up to silly levels. I would like to think when the new gt4 arrives New buyers will vetted heavily to avoid so many ending up into the hands of the flippers.

I notice the one Jzm car has been dropped into 76k bracket, Jzm drove prices up a few years ago. They now appear to be doing the opposite, this indicates the demand has slowed / changed. I personally don’t think it will be long before reasonable spec cars will
me marked up starting with a 6.

A gt4 car will perform on the road, wouldn’t buy it to perform financially
as they have started to depreciate. If you are new to the gt market and looking to buy one not to loose money I would be very careful and do your homework.

Yes 700 is quite a bit up from the lucky 300 people that got the first allocations

If you look at the production numbers for the GT3 cars 700 is mass production territory really which is new ground for a GT car.

I wouldnt fancy a 996 or 997 GT3 just same reasons as you champ19ns I think they are dated in terms of the interior especially and you'd be watching the mileage more too. You are really just paying for the exclusivity I guess and the "proper" engine.

Might have a further think on the GT4. May main reason for the 991.1 was the PDK box which I prefer (I know I know) but for sure the GT4 manual is probably about the best stick there is. The other big tick for the 991 is that a CS with PCCBs is a rare beast. Plus 10 year engine warranty. I think that could be a good buy.

Find me a nice car WITH the spec under £85k

nice cars are selling fast, the jzm car is lower price because it does not have climate or PCM
On top of those 2 big items it’s also missing Bluetooth and Carbon. (Must haves for me personally) so 4 quite nice things missing and still no exclusive trinkets.

So while people think cars are below list , people need to take a longer look it’s still over list and a sticking spec, a base car was £64k remember. Even a high spec car with all the above and more comes in at £75k list hence nice cars are £85k

They all drive the same but people do get excited over prices without thinking about what the car was list.

There is always a reason,

I list the 991.1 the bottom of all GT3 models, add to that PDK and chocolate engines it’s a odd car, a GT4 buyer is not even looking at GT3 due to the box alone.

People chose the car car because of feel not interiors, some thing you missed when you slate the R all the time, one of Porsche’s best drivers cars.

10 year engine warranty means what ? 5 years left then what do you do regarding reselling it vs a 991.2 car with a master peice of an engine. 991.1 look £30k over priced to me.

GT4 looks amazing value if you buy right.

??

c590 UK GT4s.

c332 UK 991.1 GT3s.

c250 UK 991.2 GT3s.

Hardly mass production. Bear in mind there were c 1200 458 Ferraris in the UK. Still a rare car.

I thought you were a Lotus man these days? wink

I understand the points on the options that's always the way and I wouldn't bother with a none clubsport of either of these cars. We all like a completely useless fore extinguisher in the footwell smile

As for the drive I'll have to make my own mind up as I always do. I can't take advise from anyone that thinks a Cayman R is a drivers car lol

This reminds me of the 85 Spyders you harped onabout lol

I bet you back then, you went very quite, I,ll bet you again with the 991.2 GT3 Numbers.

250 lol I,ll wager a £50 bet for over 350 cars but it will take a year to come out, I think we will see over 400 myself. Still rare because of the split into 3 styles, 50T's, 70 manuals and the rest PDK is my thinking.
