Because of you call them up, most are willing to cut a deal at 70k. Advertised price is what they want, not what they get. As a previous poster said the price has dropped 4K in a month. Expect them to hit 60k by year end.
This really is absolute nonsense

The only way the arse will drop out off them is if all the cars do.

Go and cut a deal then. We know you won't because you're clearly a wannabe that's not willing to pay the cost of entry. Now jog on, there's a good chap.

I am very happy with my 86 944Turbo that I have had for 10 years, but I do intend to get the Cayman GTS by 2021 due to ULEZ changes.

After comparing my old 981 GT4 spec on a new 718 its well over £90k which in reality for those not getting a slot will make it a £100k+ car on the used market.

I actually think that the 981 values will hold very well and not likely fall to £60k anytime soon. £100k for a top spec 718 makes £75-£80k for a 981 seem a relative bargain!

Don't forget a 10% Brexit surcharge could also apply and whilst a proportion of it could be reflected in short term flipped prices it is doubtful whether medium and long term residuals could support it even on the new GT4.

Entirely agree with you there ChrisABP...

Now i’ve got a question for any GT4 Clubsport owners or anyone else in the general know...

If you buy a clubsport it comes with harnesses and fire extinguisher. Should you/did you get 2 x sets of harnesses or just one?

If you had the fire extinguisher fitted, did you/can you still fit the floor mat underneath?

I’ve been told my new car only has one harness and that if you have the fire extinguisher fitted you cannot get a floor mat underneath, however these were both different stories in my old gt4 clubsport.

Interestingly as well the car is fitted with dunlop sport race maxx tyres, rather than the Michelin’s... anyone else got these, they look decent.

Thanks

What do you mean? I own a 944 Turbo. Here is the registration document in my name. I have covered up my address. and a random invoice too. I have approx 10 years of an ownership file in my name, if you want more proof. Happy to film a walk around with my passport and todays dated newspaper in view too if it helps?

Furthermore, I am planning to get a 718GTS and my official Porsche dealer today informs me to expect the updated GTS in early 2020. I was planning on the GT4 but as that would be the first ever new car I have owned (prior to the 944Turbo was a 68 Mustang Fastback, want proof of that too?!) and my chances of being a new customer and getting a Gt4 slot are beyond slim, but the GTS I feel positive about.
Best regards and please don't make assumptions of people, it is ill mannered.
Julian

Driver harness comes with the CS pack. Passenger harness is an extra option. Floor mat should be doable with the fire extinguisher fitted as well iirc.

My latest GT3 clubsport cannot have a passenger mat fitted under the fire extinguisher and the floormat has to be cut out to accommodate it.

My GT4 is not clubsport but it's probably the same scenario above.

The Dunlops Race Maxx on the GT4 are decent tyres although some find their walls deteriorate rapidly but mine are ok. Most prefer the Michelin Pilots although I find the Dunlops a better tyre than the Pilots in the wet.

Clubsport came with one set of harnesses, driver only....but you get 2 types of shoulder strap - 2inch wide for use with HANS Device, and 3inch for non-hans....but of course you can use the 3inch with HANS Device. For the 2inch it's recommended you don't use these without HANS.

The original owner/orderer may also have specified a second set of harness for the passenger side (included the same 2 types).
This was the case for me.

Fire Extinguisher should be placed in the passenger side footwell if installed, mounted against central tunnel - there are mounting point in the chassis under the carpet for the extinguisher holder. I know some people seem to have a mounting under/at the front of the passenger seat. Not sure if that is correct. I've seen quite a few cars with the Extinguisher mounted and floor mats in place just fine. so it depends on how its fitted i guess.

Dunlop vs Michelin. My car came with the Dunlops - but I switched to the Cup2. For use on track..Dunlops can be fast but seem like they lose their peak performance much quicker. Michelins tend to be more consistent over their life span. I prefer the ride with Michelins also.

There are four bolts which mount the fire extinguisher two into the tunnel and two into the floor. You can leave the mat in by not using the floor bolts and just using the two tunnel bolts and pulling it up as much as it will go. The mat will just slide under the bottom of the bracket. It is more than secure with the two bolts, and no cutting of the mat!

GT4 with clubsport option only came with drivers harness (passenger side available as additional option) and fire extinguisher. Neither were factory fitted and the OPC would fit them for you if you wanted them installed. My car had the harness fitted from new but I never fitted the extinguisher as it prevented passenger seat movement and I was in fear of my kids setting it off with their feet! Clubsport cars carpet has slots cut in it in correct places for drivers and passengers harness and fire extinguisher, chassis also has all mounting points to take harness bolts etc so easy to fit a passenger side harness if you bought one.

My car had the Dunlop from the factory and whilst they weren't a bad tyre the Cup 2 tyres I had on my 997 GTS before were far better and if I kept the GT4 I would have switched to Michelin.

If I remember correctly the front mat wont actually fit when it has a fire ex. fitted

I currently have my GT4 for sale, and I just supplied the car with the spare mat in the Fr'oot but thinking about it, I never actually tried to fit it.

My passenger mat is neatly cut around the extinguisher fitting ...
