Plus anyone had both, which is better...
I have had the experience of both seats, the sports bucket seats and the 918 bucket seats, both are really good, but the 918 look better, thanks.Having the 'Spyder' buckets on my 718 GT4. New car new(er) seats.
Both are great seats but both have advantages and disadvantages as discussed many times before primarily revolving around your body shape and height, preferred driving position and intended use of the car.
Porsche charge more ££ for the newer buckets basically because they are more contemporary and look better (especially with the carbon interior) than the now slightly dated looking folding buckets.
Found them comfy and supportive. But I do like the look of the 918 seat, being 6’3 sounds like the old R seats might be a better fit?
If I make the jump to a GT4, I’ll be coming from a 996.1 GT3, where I find the seats snug!

Yep, you had the older buckets in your R. At 6'3", I'd want to sit in a 9x1 series car with them fitted to see how you like them before buying...Found them comfy and supportive. But I do like the look of the 918 seat, being 6’3 sounds like the old R seats might be a better fit?

It’s actually my car, I bought 2 Cayman GT4 examples back in September, my 100th and 101st 981 series cars, I was going to buy my 3rd GT4, but the deal did not go through...
Purely out of interest you say "A GT4 should only be bought with these brakes". I had a Gt4 with the standard S brakes and they never failed either on the road or track and i was mindful of getting PCCB due to potential damage and costs of replacement.
Lovely looking car good luck with the sale

Doesn’t seem to be much moving...
They are way way too expensive in today’s market flooded with gt cars.Very few people really gel with a GT car and now most people who wanted one have one in some form.
I would buy another to mod at £60k with low miles, but today’s prices are daft esp 981 Spyder prices.
The new flat 6 models will only drive down prices more.
Let’s face it low miles cars are still over list 4 years on, it’s crackers.
Also when all other super cars have dropped big time people with £80k have many many options now.
718 markets bonkers also, loads for sale for such a new car with zero buyers.

Say a nice spec 981 with say under 10,000 miles?
When I say nice spec, for me- leather dash, bi xenons, sound pack plus, climate and buckets.
Depends , there are the most cars for sale I can remember.
People seem scared of miles , look at he 22k mile red Spyder, was a cheap car.
You can buy >20k mile cars for £65k now but not selling !
The issue is the new GT4 and GTS are no faster than the old 3.8 because of the torque limit. The cars strangled!!! Put me off a bit.
Maybe easier to drive due to a larger torque spread but not much else.
I prob would have kept mine, but the gearbox issue was too big a risk and once I sold mine they did a recall !!!
But now a modded 3.8 feels like it would be a better car than the modern cars. Lighter, 435bhp etcetc.
My OPC phones me to order a new GTS but it's too expensive imo where others see it as cheap I am not so sure, the people saying it’s cheap still won’t buy one though lol it cost more than my GT4 did !! £78k to spec it nice.
I love the new GT4 look though. But that bloody gearing and having it torque limited is a pitta for a £100k car !!
The prices have to drop now though, to where that depends on buyers, but there feels a lack of those, as most buyers will buy a 4.0GtS on a finance deal.
10k mile car for £60k will be nice and £10k mods.
Time will tell but only more will come for sale as 718gt4 and GTS arrive.
I am waiting for the GT4 RS PDK , but getting one is the issue there.

PDK will come and there'll be another deluge of GTS / GT4s.
Soon a 60k GT4 will be there for modding.
then you can chuck some proper SPGs and suspension at it.
I'm not saying that it'll depreciate like a MCL but it's going to follow normal depreciation patterns albeit it's already one of the best value holding cars.
Personally can't see the need to spec. a Gts to £80k+ , circa £80k gets a nice spec new GT4 . £70k gets a decent spec. 718gts which is only circa £10-12k more than when a 987CR was new in 2011. Ok £70k gets a 981gt4 but that's now a 4 year old car so I think I would prefer a new Gts over a 981gt4. Then I suppose at £70k you could throw a 911T in to the mix (that's the only 991 (bar gt3) I would be interested in. At least there is now actual choice in the porsche market which I feel hasn't been there since the 9x7.2
