Well in my opinion the Bose in my car sounds fantastic...maybe your ears are broken? ears
Well they (amongst quite a few others) are tuned quite differently for yours. Why would anyone (not me) go to the bother of stuffing the subwoofer port or replacing the tweeters if they were any good?

a £300 home systems sounds better than a 10k car system that's life.

Bose sounds far better than SPP, I have had both many time's the difference is pretty big.

Every car I have been in with BOSE, people have treble down and base up !!!! turn the BASE down 3 clicks and the treble up about 4 clicks and BOSE kills SPP by quite a margin !

I hate BOSE they must make the worst speakers for home use !!! but we are talking SPP VS BOSE in a car and BOSE wins hands down.

Why don't you offer an opinion on the sound systems ? , rather than personal abuse, 3 or 4 people on these forums just offer NO content.

It's not even like your sentence even makes sense !!

Sure it's extremely difficult to get true HiFi in a car - and Caysters are too noisy to appreciate it if you could.
Can't comment on Bose vs SPP (never heard SPP) - but given that I found the BOSE so bad that I never listened to music in the car, it is academic for me. I have heard far far better in a car.

You only have to watch F1 to see where the bulk of BOSE's budget goes, and it's not on the product. Factor in the use of lots of poor quality speakers rather than 4 good ones and you have a system which impresses on the spec sheet but not on the ears.

Could you get BOSE in a 981 GT4? I thought it was only Sound Pack...

you would be very shocked at the GT4 system then. SPP is utter st.

After 2 years of watching the 981 GT4 market, saving money and general procrastination I have finally purchased a GT4 Clubsport;

I am really happy with my purchase and would encourage anyone else who is thinking about jumping in to go ahead and do it if you can as you won't be disappointed.

A few things helped pushed me over the edge but most noticeably;

I personally couldn't afford one of the newer 718 GT4's as a nice spec is circa £95k

I doubt Porsche would really be interested in talking to me as I have never bought a new or second hand car from them

My personal preference is that I like raw or slightly more hardcore feeling cars so I like the heavy clutch pedal and the louder exhaust note.

I managed to find after a lot of searching, a car with the options that I wanted, with 10 months warranty left. (Clubsport, 918 Carbon Buckets, Leather, PCM, PDLS, DAB Radio, Cruise Control, Sound Package, Two Zone Climate, six point Harnesses on both sides, PPF, etc

I am sure the new GT4 is equally as amazing so in no way am I criticising the new one but for circa £25k more it just doesn't float my boat.

The only thing that I am not sure about is the stickers on the car, they look better in real life than on the photos so I am going to live with them for a while but I might have them removed.

I am hoping by the time that I get to the point that I feel like I fancy a change then I will be able to pick up a manual GT3 for £100k, thats next on the hit list.

One thing I was hoping that someone might be able to help me with is where to purchase an outdoor cover for it, unfortunately I don't have a garage and my cars live in my parking space outside in the elements, I have had a look around and there are a few different types but I want to make sure I get one that fits nicely over the rear wing and in general over the car. I previously used to struggle to get a cover over the mirrors of a Lotus Elise and was always worried I might break something.

Can anyone make any suggestions?

Well done Defenderd that looks lovely.
You are right about the decals. The bonnet and roof decal don’t match the sides, that really jars with me. Loose the rather old school one on the side and keep the others.
Enjoy

Congratulations on your new purchase!

Re outdoor covers, I've tried a fair few and have to say that none of them have lived up to expectations - I've tried cheap, expensive and all in between. Sadly they make the cars sweat, they can scratch paintwork, and I've taken to just not using them anymore.

Is an outdoor carcoon an option for you? I haven't tried one mainly because my driveway is gravel, but may in the near future.

A car cocoon would be great but my drive is also gravel.

I know a lot of people are anti car covers and I understand the risks, but it’s that or bird sh*t and tree sap.

Hopefully someone knows of one that will fit.

Lovely car. Personally, I would lose all the stickers as I think it looks fussy with them.

I had a cover from Classic Additions for my GT4 which was quite a good fit but it still moved about a bit when windy and if it were me (bird droppings not withstanding), I would try and manage without.

Congratulations defenderd. Looks lovely.

I'd suggest https://www.specialisedcovers.com/stormshield-plus...

If you ring them up, they'll send you some samples. I had to buy one for a black GT3 I had when I lived in London. There was a building site 1/2 mile away and the amount of muck that drifted over was insane. I was pleased with it for that purpose but it sounds like you know the pros/cons of using one. I did find it a pain in the backside to keep clean on the inside and it's best taken on and off with two people for this reason.

Trouble with outdoor covers is the scratching as you elude to - unless car is spotless when cover is put on it will do more harm than good frown

It will perforate the cocoon, apparently the cure is to put some plywood down first, if you can be bothered...
