Damn. "Allows other members to contact you via the forums" is ticked on my profile, so not sure why it's not working.

Have sent you a PM.

What is your tyre of choice on your Cayman R?

Mainly country road driving with 2-3 track days a year.

Can you buy Michelin Pilot Sport 4S in the right sizes ?

I had fitted Supersports on mine which were very good (amazingly so on a very wet Spa trackday) ... but the 4S is is a much newer tyre ...

Interesting...I had Supersports on my modded S and it was absolutely superb. Got an irreparable puncture so replaced all four with MPS4S which I expected to be better but tbh honest the car didn't feel as good...?

Not sure what it was as I'm sure it's been developed by very clever people but somehow the car felt less planted and less positive when changing direction...I can only think this was poss the new tyres had much deeper tread and therefore the blocks moved about more vs the older tyres that were more worn and therefor the tread blocks moved less..I hope so at least because if it was a difference in side wall construction the old tyre deffo felt better than the new model...?

Not quite the same but Ford specced PSS rather than PS4 (non S) on the last Fiesta ST as they found them to be better. Ran a set of PSS on our 640d and really liked them. Have run PS4 on a Golf R and my 987.1.S but no experience of PS4S.

Not sure if they are available in CR sizes but I’ve found Goodyear F1 Supersports an excellent substitute for MPS4S on my GR Yaris both on road and track and they are easier to get hold off and a fair bit cheaper.

Who was looking for a blue R?
New listing today, manual, but no buckets, super low miles.

Could have buckets as dealer doesn't look specialist so list's "sports seats" but also "head restraints" and "mirrors external" so perhaps not the most informed description...?

Possibly, but looking at the other cars they have, including a Taycan and other fancy cars, I think they'd know buckets from sport seats, but yep you never know.

Sidewalls on the PS4S are very soft.

An interesting thread here comparing the PS2 N4 and the PS4S.

Yes sounds like I'm not the only one then...I guess the true comparison is trying both types of tyre but with matching levels of wear? It could indeed be the side walls but I would like to try both types in brand new condition and both tyres in well worn condition..

Is it fair to assume that a performance tyre with full tread depth/block movement of say 8mm will feel quite different to something that's worn down to say 3mm? Surely on a warm dry day those blocks are going to flex a lot more under cornering load and therefore lead to the car feeling less precise? I'm sure ultimate grip would be better at lower speeds but is it fair to assume the car would feel more rolly, ( a highly technical term only used by expert tyre development bods..!? ), when pushing harder if the tread blocks we tucking under a bit more?

Is all of a cup 2's extra grip down to compound/tyre wall stiffness or is a large part of the grip acheived from having less tread blocks/less tread depth etc which reduces body roll etc..?
