The lack of Nav did concern me (more so than the lack of leather which I fortunately had in both my 997 GTS and the GT4). However after speaking to Tom at 911V who’s Porsche knowledge I respect a lot it became obvious that the perfect R might not exist and if it does it won’t come up for sale!
Nav solution is being sorted prior to collection - OE system (CDR or PCM) is pretty crap anyway so a sympathetically instaled Kenwood / apple car play head unit with DAB, Garmin Nav, Phone etc is my solution and is easily returned to OE if necessary for selling in the future.
In the meantime if a manual car comes up for sale with buckets, Spyders, PSE, short shift, Chrono, Nav, leather, ceramics, Xenons, alacantara pack, 1 owner, 5k miles and in immaculate Guards Red please let me know (and pinch yourself to wake from the dream...LOL)
Roll on delivery of my R.....
congrats, gorgeous car you have there, I looked at it when the owner had it before 911V bought it/ sold it on his behalf and it's a real stunner I got it down to your car and the one I bought and was literally changing preferance day to day Nav solution is being sorted prior to collection - OE system (CDR or PCM) is pretty crap anyway so a sympathetically instaled Kenwood / apple car play head unit with DAB, Garmin Nav, Phone etc is my solution and is easily returned to OE if necessary for selling in the future.

enjoy, loving mine and it's a keeper
What did you buy in the end and what swung your decision?
Is the previous owner (6 years) on pistonheads by any chance?
the one I bought (and am chuffed to bits with) is the same spec as yours except it also has PCCB's, BOSE and Nav, only thing yours has got that mine hasnt is reverse sensors, mine is slightly higher mileage and not quite as clean, mines still very very nice, but quite the "never sat in straight out of the box" yours is
yes the previous owner is on here I'll drop him this thread to see if he minds taking to you, he's a nice bloke and loved the car
enjoy there great
pic of mine when I got it home before the big bufty started, think mines pretty spec heavy the original owner must have liked ticking things

there great cars, and yours is in perfect condition, it was down to spec in the end (I was also in talks with porsche911R above to see his as well)

TOM delivered the car to me yesterday and since the weather has been shocking so sadly not been out in it yet...the one I bought (and am chuffed to bits with) is the same spec as yours except it also has PCCB's, BOSE and Nav, only thing yours has got that mine hasnt is reverse sensors, mine is slightly higher mileage and not quite as clean, mines still very very nice, but quite the "never sat in straight out of the box" yours is

It’s stunning and in fantastic condition for a 7 year old car, the car is as mint as it could be with 25k miles and I’m delighted with the condition. Tom described it perfectly and like I’ve said before he is one of the few people in the industry who I trust implicitly.
Spec is perfect for me and I’ve been in contact with the previous owner as he’s moved the other way (R to GT4) so we’ve been exchanging some emails. You can tell it’s been garaged most of its life and cherished throughout.
I’m hoping for some dry weather tomorrow and my 1st drive - I’m sure it will drive as well as it looks.
Come summer we need to arrange a CR meet in somewhere central for us all - either that or a trip into mid Wales...

I test drove this when Bristol had it for sale a year ago. It's done 500 miles since and put on £3k!Jim1556 said:

There was the press car available when I bought mine about 18 months ago in SY. Mine is in quite understated Meteor grey but looks good with the silver spoiler and mirrors and black spyders. Here she is when she was for sale from 911v.
Few R parts to fit at the week end :-)
as we all know the R disks are a bit small and suffer heat issues, one can fit race pads and GT3 ducts to try and combat it, but it just makes more heat !!
So I have gone for a big disk upgrade :-) much larger disk with spacers inc, more surface area, 2 piece design, and have matched those with new Brembo rears and some fast road pads. My R is a road car not a track car. But bite should be better due to moving the caliper out and the pads.
Also my tips were not looking great so some new Black chrome tips as well ;-)

Sounds like a good idea. Particularly keen on the tips as mine also don’t look perfect despite trying a mixture of cleaning methods. Do you need a ramp to get underneath and do the old tips come off ok? I’ve loosened mine to help with cleaning. Out of curiosity who makes the caliper spacers David? We used to sell lots of a similar ‘big-disc’ conversion for Civic Type R’s made for us in the US. Good cost effective upgrade. as we all know the R disks are a bit small and suffer heat issues, one can fit race pads and GT3 ducts to try and combat it, but it just makes more heat !!

My car has a set of Endless pads and updated fluid fitted and so far I’m happy with the performance but may want more in the future.
came with the kit, I think they are 12mm ones so not sure if Gyro buy them in or make their own.
Looks will also be nice as they do look small on the R but these are 340mm :-)
this is what happened to Richard Tippers Disks he loves his R but killed his disks.
Endless pads are the dream choice, I run RS29's in most things, but as this is a road car only trying a road bias pad.
I don't get brake fade on the road any way I just want a bit more bite and big disks :-) out of my 4 cars the R is the worst performing for brakes.
I was going to go for a AP touring car caliper with 350MM but hoping this will be ok for a 1/3 of the price.
The thing with heat is it kills the ceramic pucks In the calipers, a well know Porsche problem :-(

They're just a pair of fat washers and longer bolts. My car has a set of Endless pads and updated fluid fitted and so far I’m happy with the performance but may want more in the future.
Some companies sell a single piece spacer - one long piece of alloy with 2 holes in - for Porsche cars using a slightly larger diameter disc from another Porsche.
I bought a pair of the alloy gyro bells only last year from some guy in the states. I've yet to find a disc which will fit but have not tried very hard.
Very interested to hear how you get on with the new front Gyrodiscs 911r. Have been thinking about doing the same on my CS as on track it's lacking with all the upgrades you have mentioned, bigger disks should make a difference I am sure, after all people fit Porsche 986/996 front 4 pots to E46 M3s which weigh at least 10pct more than our cars but with a bigger front disc they apparently work fine.
I have also made some ducts for the rear brakes using those from a 997 turbo with a bit added to get them more into the airflow.
