I could do with cup holders - they're about the only thing missing for me!

as a drivers car it's missing the Sports crono and the Short shift

as a daily it's missing BOSE, Bluetooth for phone and cup holders

:-p but yep it has the basics and looks great and while I think is has great tyres, they are not N spec so it will put certain people off lol.

I guess it's had new tips as they are black not chrome, but I guess they have been redone as the chrome ones do go off.

Nice basic car over all. As I use mine a lot I DO use all those 5 missing options all the time mind you.
Thats my old car, still got the CaymanOC.com stickers in the window i'm glad to see!

I wouldn't hesitate to buy it back (if I had the space) because quite honestly none of the bits you listed above David would make it any more of a driver's car or the perfect R experience.

p.s. it has bluetooth phone, they are the original factory black exhaust tips.

as a drivers car true, my spyder has none of the tat :-)

depends if it's a only car or a 2nd use car. My R has been my daily, I love BOSE and cup holders :-p

Im looking for a new set of boots for mine. Am I right in thinking Michelin have no N rated tyres that fit these?

you can fit a 10 year old PS2 which is N spec. but please don't :-)

I think I like MPSS more than PS4S In the dry, but as an all year round tyre the PS4S is king.

My R has Michelin Pilot SuperSport tyres fitted which are superb - had them previously on my BMW 1M and they are far superior to the ancient N rated PS2. The rear 265/35x19 SuperSports on my R are N rated..but front 235's sadly aren't available with the N rating

Use the Pilot Sport 4S on my M3 and like them too but given the choice I feel the SuperSport are the better tyre in the dry.

100% agree - fitted them to my 997 GTS and loved them BUT the SuperSport and PS4S offer so much more versatility & flexibility for road use in the UK.

and pointless on a road car imo. as the operating range is really dry above >12oc.

I have Cup2s on my R for both road and track. Superb tyre but can be a little greasy in the wet and cold conditions if there’s no temp in them.
I used Supersports on my Impreza which was just shy of 600hp and they’re a good middle ground for performance in practically all weathers.
My wife’s new fiesta has come with Pilot Sport4s and I think they’re probably the best all weather performance tyre available right now from Michelin.

Buy what fits your needs. smile

I've just fitted Michelin PS4S's to my Boxster and am very pleased with them. Much better than the original Bridgestone Potenza's. Much more quiet, but most importantly have much better steering 'feel'.

Yep - I'm also running Cup 2s, and they're far from pointless on a road car, in fact I've found their performance on road to be great.

Yes, you need to be sensible in the wet, but they're not going to get you into trouble unless you're driving like an idiot and not accounting for the conditions.

All that said, my R isn't my daily driver, and I'd probably have gone with SuperSports if it were. My daily is a Mk3 Focus RS which runs SuperSports, and I had them on my previous Mk2 Focus RS, too - brilliant road tyre!

I have 2 cars on cups and 2 on PS4S, no need to run a cup as a road car tyre it's pointless the PS4S is that good, add in temps bellow 12 oc and any sort of rain the PS4S wins in every respect.
I wish I had my 3rd car on PS4S and not cups.

as for not getting you into trouble maybe not , but they could put you in a tight spot and NOT get you out of trouble, if it's not 100% dry and the car in front has PS4S on them and does a stop !! you are hitting it
as we have more rain In the UK more of the time, PS4S is the king of tyres. Forget PSS they are not great in the wet either but better than a cup I guess.

Cups also give way more road noise and throw up more stones added to which they understeer when cold, so getting temps into them you have to drive quite hard. come off the A43 and hit a round about with cold cups the car will under steer.

it's a pure dry weather hooning tyre, nothing else and in fact if I did not do track days I would still go PS4S over a cup as a 100% road car.

I dont get any understeer from my R with cold Cups, if anything its more prone to oversteer.
Steering feel on Cups is superior to any of the others too, and for that i'll suffer wet weather performance. Mines a dry weather use car only out of choice, but if i do get stuck in a shower, im not going to cry about it.

Another big thumbs up for PS4S here, in the wet at Anglesey plus the Ohlins on softer settings the car was sublime and for the road all I really need.

Would love to try Cup 2s on a dry track but think to get the best would need to add more neg camber to go with the suspension set up.
