£7-8k overpriced compared to the market. What are they smoking?
Isn't that the car that was recently advertised at the ludicrous £55k??? Sure it was Silverstone OPC.... https://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/...

4 weeks ago I viewed a Green Cayman R at Silverstone with an odometer reading 59k, it was the only Cayman R they had and was on SOR. I didn't buy it and it is still on the Porsche site so I can only assume this is the same car at a lower price.
What was it like? I'm aware of someone who went to look at it and they said 'it was a bit rough'?Daniel-rwj5n said:

I saw the car before it had finished it's final prep but it was missing the stickers on the front bumper, the bonnet was corroding where the latch is fixed and generally needed a detail/tidy up. Probably a good buy for someone looking for a car to drive and enjoy without worrying about mileage or 'investment grade'

And this lovely thing has just appeared...

Looks almost perfect, if a little strong compared to the market...
Looks lovely that. But I'm a little confused with the emphasis of lightweight spec, when it has PCM, AC, Parking sensors and UAI hehe.https://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/...

Would be happy to purchase that if I was looking for one though!

Quick questions, can the automatic door lock on pull-away be deactivated and if so, how?
I love the door pulls but they don't work well with the double pull feature to overcome the auto lock.
Mine doesn't auto lock so I assume it can be. Afraid I don't know how you change it though.I love the door pulls but they don't work well with the double pull feature to overcome the auto lock.

Couple of pics of my R in bike transport mode. Bought the roof bars off Oso who posted on here a few pages back and added a Thule 598 bike carrier. I think the orange bike and green car look class together. Certainly got a lot of attention! Credit to local Pher, Dirtbiker, who gave me the inspiration to get the bike carrier on my car too.
Having sold my 997 GTS I'm thinking of getting back into a CR. I had one back in 2011 or so, Peridot with pretty much the perfect spec (Mr D, no less, bought it from the OPC I traded it in at). Lovely car.
Quick question to the cognoscenti; can the sport shifter be retro fitted? I know it can be done for the 997 because I had it done for my last GTS, but one OPC I enquired at said it can't be done for the CR and was only a factory option. Not sure I quite believe that as I'm pretty sure it can be done for a standard Cayman S.

It shows on the Porsche site for Cayman and Cayman S, but not the R -

However, I was under the impression they all had the same gearbox in which case I can't see why it wouldn't be available for the R too. Seems odd.

Officially it's not available as a retro-fit, however some OPCs and most indys will do it. It's also only about an hours DIY, using the 997 short shift.Quick question to the cognoscenti; can the sport shifter be retro fitted?
