All about price, I only want the face lift cars with the open gear gate, and new front clam design. And the cups are £45k atm like that, a 220s with Sprint wheels etc can be had from £35k.Or pre regs £55k brand new 220s at £41k
I fancy a 220 Sprint as it rare as hens teeth and has some nice bits.
You can get 265bhp for about £2.5k anyway on any of them
But I’ll end up with a Exige 410 I bet ......£69k now.
Cannot decide which I would rather have, having had both a Elise and Exige before. I change my mind daily :-)
Decided that with "decent" (read vaguely reasonable) weather fast running out, I should really take the car for a proper blast. Did a sort of loop from Aberdeen, out over Glenshee, onto Pitlochry and then on to Skye. Came back via Inverness then Grantown and over the Lecht. Weather was a mixed bag - the dry sections were fast and the R didn't felt like it lacked grip! In the wet and with standing water the Super Sports aren't really in their happy place so the pace was rather more sedate, although when the road was just damp the tyres seemed to bite pretty well once they got hot.
Pretty much the perfect two car garage...
A quick stop on the A87 as I'd caught a line of cars that I wasn't going to get past in a hurry.
Next stop Eilean Donan castle where I'd a good chat to a chap with a V12 Vantage S - the noise when he left was epic.
And when I stopped for a walk at the Quiraing on Skye.
Shame that some of the better bits of road on the way were so wet, but great fun regardless. Hopefully not the last big run of the year but it's now going to be down to the weather I suspect.

I popped for a new 220 Sport - couldn't get my hands on a sprint. I did get a healthy discount also, was quite easy! Or pre regs £55k brand new 220s at £41k

It's a great little car, steering feel is simply amazing, it's pretty quick and they are better than the earlier cars were for fit and finish, although of course still not up there with Porsches.
Will I keep it, I doubt it. It's great for a blast for an hour or so but after a few hours it does become a bit hard work, it's mainly the noise that wears you down I find. Certainly not a car i'd spend a week in the Alps in, unfortunately.
I was very impressed with a courtesy car I had for a couple of days, an Evora GT430 - absolutely loved it, but £125k was a bit rich for me.
Was invited to take part in the launch of the Evija, mine is at the front here. Harry in his cool little Elan to the left.

A CR has just gone up at 9e with SC, PSE, AC, etc. I know the previous owner and one of the earlier owners too who was a total OCD geek

That car has no PSE but does have a Carnewal exhaust, which we all know sound better

PSE and Sport Chrono would not have made it a £48k car!! Both are desirable and important options; PSE at least for the sound and the ability to switch, and SC is more than just software. Lack of these options hurts the price - not to the tune of £10k, but certainly by around £3k, and in some cases it will rule the car out to potential buyers as quite a few won't buy a car without these options. Also, whilst it can be retro fitted, or a reputable alternative fitted, its cost and hassle. Also some insist options are factory fitted rather than added later for originality, or are OEM.The lack of those means it’s not a £48k car on this fickle market, but as it stands it’s the best value car for sale with all the important options at £39k esp as there is always wiggle room, annoyed I cannot bid on it atm.
I concede that some are happy to forego options in the name of purity or to save some ££ (which may even make the difference between making an R affordable or not), or to use the cash to fit aftermarket mods instead.
That car will still hold value well against the price paid for it regardless, but my point is that the car is cheaper for a reason in that it is missing desirable and therefore important options, and the price is a good starting point to work from when negotiating.
