used exige 410 was what i was looking at but manual only. even if an auto gearbox has more parts to break and generates more heat, I like 2 pedal driving.

besides,70k is a lot for a track car and I find being precious about the car on track ruins my experience.

which was why i was thinking about starting with a 20k 987 cayman S and spending 20k on it (including labour). It would have around 50k miles though
I was thinking older V6 with Komotec, but didn't expect to find one with IPS.

Interestingly all the Rs on AutoTrader at the moment are black or white. Neither are colours I'd personally want. They also seem to be nice spec/low miles and pricey or cheap and bad spec of high miles.

what's the deal with the JZM car? Why hasn't it sold yet. On paper it looks like a good car.

No idea, maybe they cost too much now?

You can’t insinuate that on here, you’ll be shot. The values have dropped, clearly. That JZM car sold for £44k a year ago...now it won’t budge for £38k

No sports exhaust and sport chrono (which for me was a must as I prefer the extra responsiveness of the accelerator pedal) as well as no alcantara package which, let’s face it, adds a little wow factor. In today’s market, that car isn’t worth more than £37k.

That's very interesting, I didn't know that. There's a couple of silly high priced ones too that have been hanging around for ages.

I just gave my lowly 987.1S a good seeing to on a 550 mile Irish Cannonball run last weekend. Surely it gives 85% of the thrills at a third the price? Also, I don't care about putting miles on it. Porsche fun is at the lower end stuff I've decided.

Is the JZM one the one with a modified exhaust that they haven't documented? I think the previous owner confirmed it. That would do me fine if the price was right....sub £35k!!

The current cars for sale all have a couple of items missing for what many consider the ideal spec. Generally speaking, when I was looking for one, the cars with all the magic items ticked didn't hang around for long. That said, I thought there was another white one on here recently which had all the goodies and took a bit of time to sell and went through two dealers? Maybe everyone who has wanted one has moved on to the newer stuff by now?

I think one issue is that you can get really nice 981S manual for less.

I know it's not an R but some people just want the newer stuff. The R is very niche.

This one's at a dealer so privately it could be in low £30's....alot of low mileage car right there. Also nice to have oil temp and pressure readings on the dash as apposed to a water temp dial that's meaningless IME

You've also got the price of the standard gen 2S models softening in the last few years so a bigger price discrepancy.

Three years ago an R at £40k made send but not so sure they do now for me personally. Just my 2 cents worth...
