I had to do mine recently - part number is 987.631.428.03 for RHD drivers side, it is the same as all 987.2's, and it's made by ULO.

Thank you for confirming too. Odd how i thought they were smoked versions for the R. I was wondering if ULO is official Porsche parts or not, so they are yep?
What do you folk make of the 981 or 718 style LED rear lights for the 987? I am not convinced, they look a bit cheap to me, and trying too hard to be something that the car just isn't. Think i'll stick with the originals, but yep, ULO is official Porsche parts yes?

Yep, ULO is the official supplier. Both the original old light and new light were made by them and the only Porsche labelling was the white sticker with the 987 part number.

Not keen on the 981-style lights myself, but having a red car means the standard lights blend in nicely anyway smile

For someone seeking to buy a as new CR who might have missed out buying brand new can't be a better opportunity .
Years of service without problems saving on repairs and refreshes.
Certainly lowest mileage I have seen I thought mine was doing well on low mileage only needed for trips and events but can't compete with that .
Feels so special when it's called up for action.

A Cayman R is an incredible car, easily one of my favourites and I have had a few Porsches.

I preferred it as a tool over my 981 GTS and 981 Spyder.
That is really interesting. I would have thought natural upgrade from the R would be a GT4 but if the spyder wasn’t the best....

Personally, if I was going to swap out, I’d go left field and be seriously considering the Evora. For me a 410 Sport or, if budget allowed, GT410.

GT4 is a down grade for road use, but an upgrade for track use, depends what you want the car for.

I had these 3 at one point for 2 years all together

That's a nice combination! Can I ask what made you pick the R over the 987 Spyder as the 'keeper'?

Do you know if the 987 Spyder front bumper fits the 987 R? Its a nicer front bumper I feel.

All 987 bumpers are interchangeable as the shells are all basically the same.

Oh, do you know of any people that have done that? I have looked online for images of such a conversion to no avail. What do you think about the idea?

I saw a standard 987 boxster for sale a while ago with the spyder bumper. I think it's not too common because these bumpers cost quite a few quid and not many people are willing to pay the money just to try it. You might need more parts than just the bumper cover.

Been on the market for a while now. I think the roll cage must be putting people off. The steering wheel and gear knob/boot looks like it has done that usual horrid thing with Alcantera (on touch points) and turned to a shiny brittle finish.
That and the Nankang tyres

thinking out loud, the kudos of only 100 (give or take in the country) whilst that makes it rare, would you say that even rarer are people who even want one. If there are only in the entire country, 50 people who really would want and R, then the rarity is a bit immaterial is it not?
Just trying to work out why these cars seem to take years to shift. It must be on average a year, maybe two people people seem to be able to find a seller. Its very strange the R world isn't it.

too old and cheap for the curb appeal.

So yes you are right some of the best ever cars get looked over due to being older and cheaper.

Have any one noticed the white car for sales stickers are upside down lol
