Keep talking them down and you can sell the 987.1 and buy an R with the change
Or I just buy another two 987.1's and keep driving them until all 3 of them break. I reckon that'll give me a couple of years I'm not a good enough driver to know the difference!

None of us are. Just buy what you like and enjoy it. I'm not a good enough driver to know the difference!

Willing to bet 99% of the GT3 owning brigade couldn't drive one anywhere near its capabilities and neither could I.
Doesn't stop me wanting one though and i would buy one in a heartbeat if the funds allowed.

I keep going around in circles looking at 'upgrades'. Keep coming to the conclusion I'll just drive what I've got until it breaks...fix it...and repeat...
If I think Cayman R's are sitting at the right price for ME then I'll jump in.

Hi All
I shall be selling my R shortly and with talk of current prices wondering where to pitch it for a private sale
Meteor grey manual with buckets, spyder wheels, AC, Bose, nav, xenons but no exhaust or chrono, 34K miles on the clock
Was thinking around 38k if thats realistic?

Other than no PSE, the spec looks OK to me, but my big concern is the roll cage...... it would bother me as to how much time it spent on track and insurance love a roll cage to push up premiums. (I expect any R to have been on track, but a roll cage seems a bit more serious and would make me think its been on track a lot..... but it looks the nuts though!) Price seems a fair negotiating starting point if it has acceptable providers for the service history.
.......and cup holders in an R ? That would be the deal breaker!

not when PDK R's don't sell !
A statement that has no basis in factThe fact is PDK cars of this era are very poor sellers at much lower prices, just like 911 997 are, in fact atm the price difference from a manual GTS to PDK is upto £20k !!
PDK prices have to be well off manual prices as do 987 Spyders.
It what it is, thats the market and has been on most makes since the 964 !

All cars will sell at the right price, manual or PDK
The market shows that manuals are in slightly higher demand, but a good car is a good car and either will sell
