You may laugh, but you’d be shocked how many have bought into and continue to buy into the “OPC stamp is the ultimate proof a car’s been maintained properly” myth.
This is it. As Frayz says, I'm not planning to sell the car, but then you also never know when circumstances may change and it may be something I've to look at. I do wonder what percentage of potential buyers would be put off by some non-OPC invoices for work. Already I have the OPC service only and any work needing done is done elsewhere. I don't believe my OPC to be incompetent, but I have no interest in paying their extortionate rates.

Im firmly in the camp of having it done properly by actual mechanics and wouldn't ever go to an OPC for work.
However if you want to sell it to one of the stamp fanny brigade I'm afraid its back to OPC Aberdeen for you my man.

Seeing as you have no plans to sell it, just get it done locally. smile
I had a queue of one's ready to buy my high miler R that's only got one OPC stamp but yearly stamps from an Indie. The OPC stamp only occured because it was there to get the flakey water pump replaced free.

OPC's aren't interested in these older cars as the Servicing costs are tiny compared to the SUV brigade with brakes the size of a Sky dish.

My local OPC offers discounted servicing for all cars over 7 years old ... they are also a Porsche Classic dealership.

I have found them to be very good with my 987 Spyder which needed to catch-up on 10 years servicing because it had been dry / heated / stored for this time ...

Credit where it is due .....

To be fair, I'm hearing from other lads that our local OPC (Belfast) are trying to win back customers of 10 to 20 year old Porsche.

They can see that the Indies have gotten greedy and sense a path back in.

If you are around Leeds, Paul quoted me 75% of the price and it took the technician the whole day ... it included the 12 year PDK gearbox oils change etc. I was very happy with that ....

I have always found OPC Belfast to be reasonable and willing to offer a discount if asked nicely - now I’m driving an older car I have used one of the two indies I know of here - reasonable, knowledgeable and helpful. I think the other well-known one has started to get a bit pricey.

In Glasgow will see if they can better price as they are a classic appointed dealer ..to be fair it has missed 2 services apart from an oil change at a indy so if you factor that in ...next one will be 2024

I bought my car from OPC Glasgow. An industry insider told me a couple of years later that of all the OPCs, Glasgow had the record for the dealer which found the most "additional work" when cars were in for service. The average was north of £3k apparently...

38k that's a very reasonable price seen them make more.
Good luck I am sure it will sell in no time.

PS I thought having Bi-Xenon Headlights meant one would have the headlight washers?

I think standard Xenons (35w) didn’t require washers but Bi Xenon (55w) had to have washers.

I could be totally wrong though and not sure if the 987 offered an option of either Xenon or Bi Xenon.

Makes the Viper Green one of one car look about the right money. Maybe the market will come to him as they say.
