I sold my 19,000 mile Cayman R for £35,000 in August (now up for sale at a dealer for £10 shy of £50,000!!!). I ordered the replacement a while ago and the dealer called to say it had arrived at the dealership for delivery later this week. It will be an interesting comparison to experience, especially as I have never driven an Alpine!

Wow! That is stunning smokin

I’m seriously tempted to get one of these, they’re about the only car that’s floating my boat at the minute!

Keen to hear your initial thoughts once you have got some miles on it….

have toyed with the Alpine route too but I'm struggling to get past the idea that you cant really take it on a euro trip two up and bring back enough wine and cheese to give you both gout for xmas...

Looks so much better without the faded decals.

I don't understand why there is pics of the car in plain clothes with the carbon buckets and no cage then in the same advert photos of it with Pole Positions and a cage?

Built for road trips in mind? I wouldn't want that roll cage uptight next to my head without a helmet on.

Is that a 10k premium for Peridot? Looks like the want and value of these is falling fast looking at present and recent examples

Where are you seeing the values fall fast, no doubt they will be moving, but at the moment I wouldn’t say falling fast looking at those on auto trader at the moment.

Where is your examples (with buckets etc) of present and recent examples where they are “falling fast”

Anyway great little cars………..and need to do more miles in mine next year…….

A weird one from Ashgood’s who seem to get most things right (nice spec cars with realistic asking prices). Surely the appeal of that red R is reduced by swapping out the carbon buckets, fitting a cage and silly stickers (even if they could be removed).

Also price seems toppy for a “higher” mile PDK car - I doubt modifications add much, if any, value to CR’s.

You Brits should consider yourselves lucky. RHD examples still are extremely cheap compared to the LHD Euro cars. Even at 50.000 pounds.

R's have gone up over the past few months. I think dealers are trying to collectively force the price up to be a new standard of late 40's/ 50s

I think the new norm will soon be £40k for a good one with the desirable bits.
Love my R, but they’re not £50k cars.

Away from talk of values, I can thoroughly recommend fitting a GT3 master cylinder - there’s no more braking “power” but pedal feel is a massive improvement IMO.

I’m surprised the 911Virgin car hasn’t sold yet (manual with most of the sought after options) at £40k.

No AC though, that could be why.

Really? Not so long ago all seemed above 45k. Guy on here posted up a few pages ago that he'd reduced his to 36.5k. Im sure that had buckets and manual.Who knows how much he got in the end? Most priced properly sub 40k
I'll snap up that Peridot 1 once it drops below 40🤣🤣

There are exceptions to the rule, but the general direction of travel for R prices is upwards.

This is largely driven by the economy.

If the economy starts to struggle and lots of companies start laying people off while mortgage rates are going up and house prices start to come down, then surely you see a world where car prices don't just keep marching upwards?
