Damn I thought I was the only one going yellow ! Looks lovely , I have opted for the gloss black wheels and non PASM as when my wife and I get in the suspension drops by the required amount anyway ! The only other small upgrade I noticed on the 2018 spec is electric backrests .

Have been waiting for my CS for quite a long time and still don't have an build date (ordered early October). Did get a letter from Porsche at the weekend apologising for a delay in registration of my vehicle - anyone else get this? Seems a bit strange given that I haven't as yet got a date let alone had a delayed delivery/registration

The sales guy didn't steer me either way. His point was you can either go safe (black/grey/silver) or go a bit more lairy (MB,Lava,Guards) the market wouldn't penalise you as there will be desire for both styles.

The safer combo I'm thinking of now is Sapphire Blue, Platinum wheels and the Black/Crayon leather.
Agree with sapphire especially with yellow ceramics . Yum

I ordered early Dec, spec lock down 12 April with build in May delivery June.
I've had no letters but then I've not had my experience invite either yet. Dealer says it was sent out in January so is now being resent.

I ordered a Cayman in Jan from Solihull, scheduled for delivery October. The PC confirmed things on email. I believe my scheduled lock down date is July/August. Booked into PEC 5th May... hopefully it will help me see some specced up 718s, to finalise my spec. Interior options and pse are the two things I want to see/hear.

Think in the cayman it's ok but in a regular 911 maybe it's too much .

All subjective as they say but I'd happily have one in Miami long term
Yep not sure MB suits the 911 as much as it does the Cayman.

They had an MB 991.2 S in the showroom when I picked up my 718 CS so I snapped a couple of pics.

I see a lot of the launch cars/demo's have now been released, lots for sale on Porsche site. Would anyone actually entertain one?

Given I get an itch to change cars very frequently, the fact that's it's probably been ragged from cold probably wouldn't bother me as it'd be under warranty for my ownership and is not a long term keeper. Some seem quite good value for money, considering if you buy a new one, you're going to get the Porsche price increase and also be subject to new road fund licence rules.

I was following a few demo cars earlier in the year as I was getting quite impatient.

However, from what I recall, many of these cars were priced quite high (they seemingly had a slight premium on them) or had various options I wouldn't consider as being particularly necessary which ramped the prices up.

Of course the price rise and new car tax rules skew things slightly now but the demos didn't strike me as being particularly good value versus new?

Not sure about them all, but just taking a working example the 718 Cayman S in Tewkesbury is priced at £63,718. I just built it on the configurator and get it to £69,697.

I do agree, lots of them have silly options that you probably wouldn't choose, but they do make them extra special.

Now do I start to look at one of these again or keep to my heart for a 981 GTS!

It would be a GTS for me... I haven't driven a F4 yet but will be when I 981 CS goes in for it's MOT after the bank holiday. I've been told I'll have a Boxster S for the day. Should be interesting as I've never been a ragtop fan but I'll get to hear the F4 as clearly as possible....

I'd be interested to hear your opinion after you drive the F4. I have a 981 CS at the moment, and borrowed a 718 CS for the weekend about two months ago. My personal opinion, was the 718 CS is an unbelievable car, better in nearly every area. However, the sound and theatrics are just a completely different experience to the F6 of the 981. If you own a F6, it's tough decision if you'd want to make the switch. I pretty much decided I'd sooner upgrade to a 981 GTS, but I do love the look of the 718!! scratchchin

I'd come from various TT's, the last one being a TTS and that sealed it for me... A Cayman S, F6, NA, real mechanical noise and drama would be next. I genuinely have no desire for a 718 but love cars in general so I am looking forward getting some seat time. I do like what Porsche have done with the look and interior though not a big fan of the grandstand name across the back...
They were going to give me a Cayenne for the day, turned that down flat and changed the MOT date. What am I going to do with something like that. Anyway, if the 718 comes off... I'll let you know thoughts.

I quite like Miami, but it probably looks better in Miami, and could be a bit of a st come resale.

I've posted this pic before, but think it shows how great the Cayman looks in Miami.
