When I went to OPC to view my car, was told they had run out of Swissvax but when you collect it would be done.
Picked up car & couldn't see any difference ? Asked the question - yes sir it's been done.
Car is bright & shiny, water beads off paintwork & glass !....so not sure.

When my other car had similar work done (Ford)I was given a big bag of various polishes, cleaners etc. to keep car looking good. I was given nothing from OPC.............beginning to think I have been totally ripped off ?? Anyone been Swissvaxed ?............

When I had my car Swissvaxed by my OPC last year I got said bag of various polishes and cloths etc So I think you probably should get one.

Don't actually think it's worth the money personally as there are much better products like Gtechniq which can be had for the same money and you're actually paying the OPC to prepare the car which is something they should do anyway.i.e. You should be getting Swissvax for less than it would normally cost.

Nothing wrong with Swisswax. Some of their high end waxes are lovely and do last quite well.
Problem is the OPC application I would imagine. Much better paying for a proper detailer.

Like Lifeshine from a normal car dealer I suspect lol

HiI have just bought an older Boxster and looking at a detailer they use CarPro and Finis products. Are they any godd? Seems cheap at £300 having read the posts on here.

Depends what it's for.

Who is the detailer?
What are you having done?
What protection are you having applied?

Being a Boxster you don't have the roof to polish which saves time. But many people will inflate prices for Porsche/Ferrari etc, as generally they tend to give that little bit extra care over a "normal" car. Porsche paint can be gummy as well.

Appears to be good.

Registered on PVD so that's a good sign.

Although not the be all and end all, it's good to check if you are dubious of previous work or quality.

I haven't read the whole thread but i think it's a waste of money. I just use aquawax and fastglass each time I clean it. Takes an extra 10 mins but has the same effect in between washes

Depends on how much your willing to spend on your paintwork Gareth if your happy with aquawax and fastglass fair enough bud ! But GTechniq for me applied by detailer and maintained by me rinse, snow foam,2 bucket method , dry , C2 liquid crystal, quick detailer smile gleaming again so IMO it ain't a waste of money wink

But do you not think that a regular (weekly) layer of wax/polish will offer similar protection?
I've had autoglym treatments on audis and whatever the BMW equivalent is done previously but never been convinced that these coatings can last for as long as they say (cynical). I get it if you've bought an older car and you're trying to revive the paintwork. Happy to be convinced!

Nope bud with ceramic coating you aren't touching the paint yes you need to clean bird poop and tar deposits !! Product called C2 liquid Crystal next time you polish your motor try this once applied just need a snow foam and rinse

I know this is an old thread but who’s the guy you use in Altrincham? I’m looking for a recommended detailer in the South Manchester-ish area.

He does a lot of Porsche and did my dark GT4 a couple of years back. Mention Sarj, I’m sure he’ll look after you.

I used Matt Wakefield at ‘Off Your Marks’. I can highly recommend him. He was brilliant.
