A stormy day up on The Evo Triangle today .....
Discussion
I was in Wales last month for a couple of days driving with friends and noticed several things:
Much more Police presence in unmarked cars
Lots of solid white lines down the middle of moorland roads
Reduced speed limits - many at 40mph which were national speed limit
I was pulled for having a small front number plate and contributed £100 to the Welsh Tourism fund.

Do you recall which roads are now 40 limit, as I am up that way with a group in two weeks?
I can't remember specific roads but they were well signposted and the signs look brand new! There were many roads with reduced limits but the moorland roads particularly are now set up to prevent overtaking and also keeping speeds down.Porsche911R said:
Not sure what Slippy has on or has checked his front psi, I tend to only run 29psi up front.
And if hooning one might even let a bit of air out after the 1st 5 miles.
Is that because you are running with max negative camber i.e. you would keep it at 2.2 bar on OEM geo?And if hooning one might even let a bit of air out after the 1st 5 miles.

Oooooh, didn't know you had a Guards R Gav ! !Hope you're well ?
I owned the R for about 9 months alongside the GT2, needed cash to fund renovations so one had to go. Loved the R though, couldn't really fault it at all. Had a few drives though mid Wales and I couldn't really think of anything more the car needed, apart from sodding cup holders.
I'm getting tempted to let the GT2 go and buy another one. Had the GT2 for 5.5 years now, struggle with the idea of not having it but the reality is I just don't drive it much anymore.

No, my R is 100% stock bar -1.2 on the front cambers maxed within the top mount holes.-1.2 in still not enough for a road car if you drive it a bit faster mind you.
I run -2.2 on my Spyder and -2.5 on my GT4.
The SS heat up quite easy, I tend to find if hooning on hot days you need to drop the PSI from 29 cold as they just get too high.
what I won't do is drop them pre run out as it scrubs the tyres, I'll do it mid drive out and maybe drop then 3 or 4 PSI.
-2 on the R is abut right for fast road but you need GT3 LCA's

I always wonder; how do journalists seemingly get away with driving fast and not getting pulled? Do you get more slack as a journalist?
Presumably it helps to have a photographer driving ahead and seeing if there is any police presence on the road before they drive down it at a higher speed. anonymous said:

A young 21 year old has just been given jail time for causing the death of 2 locals on the EVO. So it's a bit sensitive around there http://www.dailypost.co.uk/news/north-wales-news/d...
