Bought a Cayman gts from our nearest OPC, sales were very good but then it all went a bit wrong. After driving car for a week we booked it back in for some issues we found which we were assured by the service manger were real and were backed up by the techs on a test drive. Anything can be repaired we're his encouraging words as we left the car there...FOR 14 WEEKS!
After much to'ing and fro'ing the conclusion that our very real issues were a characteristic and couldn't be fixed...absolutely gutted and totally disappointed by this north west dealer, took car to our next nearest dealer...Wolverhampton...and although we haven't asked them to repair anything they seem a really good bunch of people and they will be getting our trade from now on.
Pleased to hear above Wolverhampton. Sorry to hear about your experience Ollie, wasn't your order with Solihull? My 718 will be my 6th or 7th car from them and I've only good things to say about the dealership and Nick Harris who I deal with.
Yeah it was... I dealt with a chap who has now left. But that said, I wasn't impressed with the wider team either. I think I may have said, but my dad was surprised too, who's had several cars from them. Chatting to the experience day staff, they said experiences can be patchy, like any dealership I guess. But I just didn't expect such inconsistency for a premium brand. If Solihull worked in my line of work, they'd be out of business in a week. Just can't even do the basic well.edo said:

I've found OPC Bristol to be very good, at least with selling the car and that experience. They also seem to be pretty helpful and so am taking my car to them for its MOT, even though its 2 hours drive away! OPC East London were not that great for the minor service I did there - would have thought £650 would have gotten you the log book stamped (they forgot) and to not be kept waiting for ages to be seen, and then be given the wrong set of keys! Small things, but they make a difference!
Ive always been very impressed with Tonbridge and Kendal. Not overly impressed with the Surrey A3 dealer in the past, but that was a long time ago and haven't been back in a while. If and when I buy another Porsche I would be looking to deal with either Tonbridge or Kendal if possible.
I have to give a mention to Mid Sussex - been using them for over 20 years (previously as Rivervale) and always had first class service both from sales and service. Like a previous poster I have dealt with the Guildford operation twice - in 1987 and 2004 and on both occassions did not rate them very highly
I had a good buying experiance from Tewkesbury.
I had fine servicing and repair experiences from Wilmslow but then it all went wrong. I took literally months and numerous emails/phone calls trying to get a price for a PSE, after two months I gave up and went to Sheffield instead who had a price within 24 hrs of me contacting them and did the install 2 weeks later, over 4 months later I still haven't received a price from Wilmslow.

Another for Tonbridge.....very pleased with their service department (particularly Damien). Recently picked up my 718 Cayman from Mid-Sussex (Sytner), having ordered last July, during the wait was given 3 test drives of various 718's. Car registration was delayed due to Porsche s/w clitch, so provided me with demo mecan then swapped it for the latest top spec Panamera, then paid for meal out for my trouble.
One week of having Cayman.........puncture, OPC replaced tyre (insured) but when got car home noticed small indentation on front wing ( probably AA, as they picked up the car), but OPC repaired the dent FOC................so no complaints about Porsche Mid-Sussex from me.
