That is one dog's dinner of a front bumper. As expected. it's the Sport Design bumpers front and rear.

I really like the Sport Design front and rear, that's why I've specced it on my CS, but I do find it odd that the GTS won't get a unique body kit.

It's the same as the 981 where the GTS also had the Sport Design kit. The only difference is that the GTS had it first, then it was offered as an option for the last few base and S models. On the 718 it's been done the other way round.

Also, it looks like the rear diffuser is not painted but on the Sport Design kit for a Base/S model I think it is?

I didn't realise that with the 981, and I had a BGTS!

Yeah, the rear is painted on the Sport Design normally, and the black winglets on the front are painted gloss black. I guess it'll be the same deal as the 981 GTS where they come in horrible matt plastic as standard with a painted cost option.

Don't like the kit at all. It is just trying too hard. These stupid pseudo diffusers are de rigeur on even the smallest city hatch.

I don't think it's as much of a "pseudo diffuser" as the previous 981 GTS?

I'm not that keen on the Sport's Design bodykit, especially the rear in the yellow example above. Looking at the GTS pictures on the web, the rear is all black, which does look better.

I'm pretty sure when the Sports Design kit was first launched on the 718 it came in two flavours - the cheaper body coloured and more expensive black. It seems that the body coloured one is no longer available, or has this been moved to an exclusive option and now more expensive than the black.

I have a similar issue with that one. These days every micro-hatch and SUV has such stick-on pseudo diffusors.It's like in the old days when Koenig, Lorinser and other German "tuners" built Testarossa-like bodykits for the 190D Mercedes. But each to their own

Me too ... for the same reasons . I will be at the Frankfurt Show on Sept 22'nd & 23'rd to see the 718 Cayman / Boxter GTS for myself .

I will take pics ( if allowed ) and post here when I get back .

I can just about live with the bare plastic on my daily Works 210, but on a 60K car I expect them to paint all of it!

They could have as chassis same as 981but purely done to bring emmisions and fuel economy down across the brand

That engine was bad enough to put me off replacing my 981 with the 718. I was vainly hoping that the halo models might get a 6...
