I've spoken to my dealer and said I was happy to put a deposit down on a GTS however all they wanted from me was an email/letter of intent

Hopefully that gets me one when it comes out as I'm new to porsches with my new Cayman s due in 3 weeks

I did a basic estimate
981 Cayman S base £48783
981 Cayman GtS £55397
Difference £6614 14% roughly

So we can expect
718 Cayman S base £51853
718 CGTS Estimate £59110

I specced my car upto £65k
So i can still spec a few nice options for my car to be daily and i might just be over the budget by very little.

I'm hoping the 718CayGTS manages to look the part. I am not saying it should be a GT4 lookalike, but the 'spy' shots of the undisguised BoxGTS did nothing for me.

My CGTS really does get a lot of admiring comments, even from other Cayman/Boxster owners. The front end treatment works really well (regardless of being available on later versions, it is still something which makes the GTS a bit more 'special edition') and it has a fine ass if I do say so! smile

The GTS front bumper on the 718 that I have seen looks very...bland. frown

ETA: Zunsport are going to make a fortune, looking at the below! wink

Just isn't working for me in the pictures:

I think Zunsport are quids in there. The first time I saw the sports kit in the metal I was quite surprised how exposed those coolers were. That said, I'm not sure if the vanes on the standard car offer faultless protection.

My 12k of options Will need to be reduced then :/ I was contemplating PDK but ruled it out in exchange for going towards the interior GTS package.

Whichbwith the new pricing structure would mean the Boxster GTS would be in excess of £60k without any options! Could easily get to £70k when finished. How much will they charge for the GT4 and Spyder next time!!

LOL - choosing the 'interior' over the very basis of how the car drives/performs.....

If you look at past threads you'll find that isn't uncommon.

The GTS interior package does not worth 2.5k extra. i would keep standard and use the Money for electric seat or pdk.

My current add on
Carrera white
PDK
Auto folding mirror
Auto Dimming/rain sensor mirror
Lane change warning
Reverse sensor and camera
18 way seats
cruise control
Multifuctional wheel
heated seats
light desgin
steering wheel alcatara delete

Assuming we get these standard
Carrera S wheels in black
Sport chrono
PASM
Sport Exhuast
PDSL
Gts bodykit
Gt wheel in alcatara
Alcatara standard interior

I prefer the manual.. driven both.
It's someone's personal choice how they spec their car, different car's are specced for different reasons and personal circumstances.
Just commented as I was informed by my dealer that the GTS wouldn't be so highly priced.. if it is indeed nearly 60k standard I'll thin my options down.

And some people are speccing PCCB's just because they want a yellow caliper?

Love the GTS interior pack, along with Carbon Trim. Wouldn't have one without it....makes the car feel very special inside imo....and that's where we spend most of our time!

Not quite so extreme but I did come across a (base) car where the owner had spent £500 to paint the calipers red. And paying 1-2k for 20" wheels which spoil the ride and (arguably) the handling too....

Very Well said! My reasoning for GTS pack and the rarely ticked option of ventilated seats..

Assuming it's the same as the 981 GTS, you can't have the GTS interior pack and vented seats. One of the reasons I went a different route to have the vented seats. One of the best options I specified on my BGTS.

Interesting - do you know why you couldn't spec it?

A classic "computer says no" attitude. I assume they'd got their seats made up with alcantara and red/silver stitching and no venting so that was what you could have.

As an example of how daft the GTS effect is:-

I wanted deviated carpets on my car. This was an "x" option on both the base car and the S. Because mine was a GTS and, I assume, nobody had programmed that option in I couldn't have it from the factory. All I wanted was black carpets in my black/Luxor beige interior! Nope.....not possible even given the amount of "Exclusive" work I had done. I gave up in the end and had Reading OPC swap them over once it was delivered. Major ball ache because nobody was prepared to apply common sense/walk over to the large pile of black carpet and grab a set.

I note with amusement that the black/Luxor beige two tone interior now comes with black carpets. Light coloured carpets are fine but they're just not practical!

It needs perforated material in the seat swabs. Alcantara isn't available from Porsche Perforated. So you have to spec leather trim if you want vented seats.

Cheers! I didn't know that...
