I am number one order at Silverstone and I’m being told March.

Which to be honest works well with new reg and the winter behind us.

I have gone for the ceramic protection waffle, has anyone else being sucked in and has anyone an opinion on it?
I opted not to have Gtechniq applied at the dealership and had my usual Detailer do it for me with two coats of Exo on top. I'm really pleased with how easy it is to clean so far, and it's still shining "like a diamond in a goats arse" biggrin The Exo will need topping up around 18 months so interested to see how things go ... Had my car for 3 months now and this was it after it's wash last week :

I too may go this route ... are you able to divulge how much the Gtechniq Platinum protection + EXO cost ? I may not have the Interior treated as it will be Full Leather ( No Alcantara) and Leather is ok ' au naturelle ' .

Yeah, mine was £850 for correction/prep, Crystal Serum, 2 coats of Exo, interior treated and wheels off.

I've had 986 Boxster Tip, 987 Boxster 2.9 PDK, 991,1 Cab PDK, currently Macan Diesel and due to this car being too big for a newly single man I'm on the verge of ordering a Cayman GTS. My spec is as follows: Guards Red, PDK, Bi Xenons, Rear Park Assist, Sports Suspension, Heated Steering wheel, Heated Seats, Model designation removed from rear. I thinks that's enough. No idea when it'll arrive though; my OPC have had 2 orders so it may be soonish ( I can wait till next year).

Any views on whether the light design package is worth it? I’ve put it on my spec without really thinking about it, but come to think of it, I don’t really know why...?

This is what I was quoted - in the end I didn’t go for it and decided to get my hands dirty on traditional washing. Reason was the detailer advised that any damage to a panel and it has to be machine polished back and re treated if any smart repairs or bodywork is done - not the end of the world but couldn’t be bothered with that.

Since discovered the Meguiars Ultimate Wash and Wax - not hugely expensive but amazing - bird crap, tar, flies etc all off in a couple of passes and leaves a lasting, deep shine and beading quality with weekly/fortnightly wash.

I do however still think about having the wheels done with Gtechniq - cleaning the inside of those with a wash mitt = bruised arms and continued annoyance....

Does anyone know what the GTS Interior Pack comprises?

Leather dash, deviated stitching, carbon in place of brushed aluminium in the cabin.

It's a bit more than that - go on the configurator and push the information button.

Sorry, I forgot the seatbelt and floor mats coloured edging:

"Seams in contrasting colour, seat belt edges in contrasting colour, GTS logo stitched to headrest in contrasting colour, floor mats with black surround with the seams and Porsche logo in contrasting colour. Trim on switch panel, door panel and centre console in Carbon"

Yes but it's bundled so that for the £3k you also get sports seats plus (electric two-way), and alcantara everywhere (plus things like sport steering wheel).

If you don't do all the GTS interior stuff, I'm not sure what the point of buying the GTS is - 10hp isn't exactly noticeable!

We have it on our Macan GTS but left it off our Cayman.

In all honesty, i find the halo-style light in the cabin a bit irritating and distracting. Can't say I've noticed missing out on it in the Cayman.

They're all standard on the GTS. It's the colour contrasts and carbon you pay for in the £3k package, plus the leather dash.

I agree, it's about the package as a whole. If you don't like alcantara, spec up a 718S how you want and save yourself some money.

Interesting - to be honest I don't really know what it includes (I've seen the description but can't picture it). Never had an opportunity to do a back to back comparison... Is it essentially just the lights that come on when you open the doors, or is it 'mood lighting' when you're driving along?

I must confess, I haven't actually seen it fully on a Cayman, but I do know it includes a halo style ring just above your head in the central cockpit area (as with most Porsche's that have it fitted).

At night, the halo basically glows - I think you can adjust the brightness but it annoys me regardless of the setting. It does make it easier to find things you drop in the dark without having to fully turn on the interior lights however.

On the Macan it also includes various bits of footwell lighting and extra lighting for the interior handles. I'm away from my Cayman at the moment, but part of me thinks you get exterior lights under the door handles even without the package (don't quote me on that). I think u do have to make do without a light for the mirror in the visors though.

It's not a particularly expensive option I guess but as I say, having it on our Macan but not the Cayman, I don't find myself missing it at all when driving the Cayman.

Think I'm just about there with mine, this will be two firsts for me (first step into Porsche ownership and also first NEW car purchase) - any recommendations?

Been tinkering with the spec, and I’m thinking about losing the LED Lights - or is that a bad idea?
