Yeah, I can't believe the novelty hasn't passed on these yet.
The pops would be fantastic if l was nearer 17 than 50...
I mean what mentality wants fake noises on a 100k car?! It's naff in the extreme.
The same mentality that thinks wings on road cars look cool, matching stitching/seatbelts/harnesses/brake calipers are awesome and having your car painted the same colour as Nissan Juke for an extra £3000+ is totally worth it...The pops would be fantastic if l was nearer 17 than 50...

Guys..... Good job we're all different, or the world would be a velly bland place wouldn't it?I like Hugh wing on a road car ( hence I own a .2GT3 RS) i like nice interiors with matching stitching, isn't it a good job Porsche make these option available for strange, silly, weird people like me??!
Forgot to add.... My 992 C4S with Sports exhaust sounds fricking awesome! proper boxer deep burble on idle then on WOT also great! even with PF installed, so im really not concerned with PF on the new GT4 as with the exhaust button engaged it'll sound great

If the 718 GT4 is 4.0 NA Manual, and produced in greater numbers, this will surely drive down prices on the 981 GT4?
Should I postpone the purchase of a 2016 GT4 (at £79k) for the above reason, and hope there's a slim chance of getting a 718 GT4??
A 4.0 NA Cayman is some prospect... When will the first customer specced ones actually arrive in uk?
I don’t think the 981 gt4 will drop in price much to be fair, the new 718 gt4 will be slightly more expensive from the off and if it follows the same trend I’m sure plenty will still try and flip a few for a profit, new flipped cars may end up being 100k for a while which will make them a bit of a sweet spot imo as these will be 40k to 60k less than a used 991.2 gt3 and 10k to 20k less than the 991.1 gt3.Should I postpone the purchase of a 2016 GT4 (at £79k) for the above reason, and hope there's a slim chance of getting a 718 GT4??

If it does have the 4.0 litre NA demand will be through the roof at this price point.
I’m really excited about this car and would love the opportunity to spec and order a new one.
If you fancy a new one no harm in trying to get one from your local OPC. I’m lead to believe it will appear on the Porsche web site just before it gets launched in May.

What’s the difference between the 2? Being used to PDK on my CGTS which is already a weapon of gearbox.
Its lighter to start off..The cogs are smaller and stronger to withstand prolonged hard track abuse..Top speed is only achieved in seventh gear and all gears are shorter and closer ratioed. The twin clutch is also stronger hence the lack of creep function..Can't think of anything else.....hang on, the changes are sharper and faster plus much more aggressive in sport mode.
Also PDK S is a faster gearchange than PDK for cars of the same production era.

In sport and sport plus mode (manual setting) the normal PDK doesn't change up if you rev it to to the limiter, it only changes down through the gears without input as you brake. And only then at the last possible second so you don't find yourself lurching into first as you creep towards a roundabout for instance to blend into the traffic.

All wrong, manual is proper manual mode. Only Driver control up and down shifts.
Amazing how people talk with no clue about it.

Absolutely correct, the downshift at idle happens indeed only when approaching idle at last possible moment....even annoying at times, it means driver has full control and it’s hid fault if revs are too low and engine is struggling.Edited by robj4 on Thursday 25th April 19:21

Really, because I test drove one Monday and it was very quiet, even with the sports exhaust on, and that’s comparing to a 991.2 GTS!Edited by MeisterH on Thursday 25th April 10:46

You sure it had sports exhaust hahaha..Up to 700miles now and it’s burbles away lovely on idle, engine is not lacking at all pulls all the way to redline, Launch control in my 4S is savage, all I’m all, a major step up from 991
Some up-to-date Nordschleife testing pics of the latest mule. This one has a race seat and seems to be really going for it - chasing a fast lap time?
