Thanks for the update Fokker. Any thoughts on if its PDK or manual?
No worries. My source is quite reliable.

Manual only I was told for the road car. No PDK.

I don’t think we’ll get an announcement about GT4 till spring next year. It’s all systems go for new 911 at the moment. Next ‘gap’ in their calendar is apparently spring. ☹️

Traded in my Caymsn GTS yesterday after making deposit on GT4 2 years ago. I have since switched it to a Spyder. Hoping this solidifies my chances. SA just back from Germany and said he thinks NA with 2016 911 GTS upped to 4.0 litre. If that is true looking at 430 HP and 325 torque. That seems about right to me - far enough of a gap from the 718GTS and last GT4/Spyder and beneath 911 GT3,etc

What would be interesting is if they carry over transmission- 7 speed manual - would this solve long gearing complaints about 981? Also clutch pedal would have less travel (from one reviewer of 911 GTS - loved clutch pedal).

Spyder is lighter than both last GT4 and 911 GTS so I think speed and handling will be phenomenal- and every reviewer I watched loved the sound of the engine. So if these rumours are true I would be ecstatic. . I’m hoping for LA but expecting Geneva but car has to be nearly ready based on news leaks.

If the 991.1 GTS box, you'd have 7 reverse gears

I don’t know. Just a question. Lots of complaints about long gearing in 981. . If they bring in engine from 911GTS is it possible to address this issue that just about everyone has complained about. Also others have noted CL wheels - same as 911 GTS. How many NA engines are available to them to use if they stay with NA?

Deposit in on a GT4 seems like the rules are being broken already. I have a LOI and a very long non committal letter back from my Porsche Dealership. Will only sell my 981 Spyder if I get an allocation for a new one when announced and order books live. The 981 Spyder is a very special car at the price point.

After many thousands of miles in gt4’s the long gearing has never been an issue fir me personally and I drove mine pretty rapidly all the time. Only ever thought about it when reading these forums.

It’ll be interesting to see where they improve on the old one. Not long till we find out.

I got the impression this was a non UK European OPC.

Any deposits in the UK for new Porsche GTs are meaningless as we all know.

Pics from Rennlist/Instagram of a Boxster with the Spyder/GT4 exhaust which has also been fitted to the Cayman T mule that we've also seen. Is this a new design for the whole 718 range, or a hint that the NA engine from the GT4 and Spyder will make it into other models e.g. a Cayman and Boxster T to satisfy the NA purists?

Another example of a badly developed website... how to click accept when it won’t scroll down, and the ad is on the way...?!

Its a 4 litre flat 6 N/A 100%

I'm not a fan of the exhaust. The new GT3 992 has been seen with two centre pipes, I don't know why they dont keep the same design for GT cars.
Looks much better to me.

26 used GT4's on the locator now. My old car reduced to 73k now and could fall further with new car confirmed for Geneva

It's at about list now... seems that cars really aren't selling

This year-end could be the time to get into a GT4 if you've always wanted one.

Such amazing VFM for what you get...

LA (and Essen Motor Show) end December 9th so not likely if John Teece is correct re Clubsport deliveries to teams late December (before road car announcement). BGB run a Clubsport, support other race teams' GT4s and John has attended PNA meetings with other race teams so I give some more credence to his posts than most others.

My interpretation is LA 992 and Geneva GT4. German forums are "reporting" first German road car deliveries in week 30 (July)

In 2015, first UK deposits were taken early February, before Geneva launch so maybe similar road car schedule this time around, albeit 2019 USA race season needs has turned road/race announcement schedule around.

Happy to be wrong and have LA launch...

Hope this isn't accurate, only started driving PDK recently and totally love it, can't be assed with manual any more, sadly wouldn't buy one if that was the case being spoiled with GTSPDK. Some of these alpine passes are full of 1st gear corners, maybe I'm just lazy ;-)
