The 718 GT4 might be arriving sooner than you think!
Discussion
The new GT4 Clubsport is being delivered to US race teams in time for the ROAR at Daytona, which is January 4 - 6. So that would need to be pre-Christmas to allow for some prep time?
It's been stated on Rennlist that the race teams are under embargo on saying anything they know until the road car is released, which will be before the race car. The race car was shown to teams in August in the US but they all had their phones confiscated beforehand so no pics could be taken.
Based on all that I'm expecting to see a press release in the next month or so.
It might be a coincidence, and I suspect it is, but my OPC Sales Associate called me today out of the blue to see if I was still interested in the upcoming GT4.....

I hope allocations go to people that will use the car as intended, including track, and be brand ambassadors. Loads of people will get a GT4 again this time around. They'll make 550 - 600 cars again so its much less of a bun fight and the overs will be less in my opinion. 200k now for a .2GT3RS means things have cooled dramatically. Who knows, perhaps less people will want one because its more of a risk in terms of making a quick profit, especially on later cars.

not sure the ave person wants to make a profit, for most it's 3 years free motoring, so the demand is very high due to that.TDT said:

Can I ask why did you take the wing off ?
End of year detail which included a bit of machine polishing - so to get to the rear deck we took the wing off to avoid any issues and get a good contact with the pad.Don’t worry…Its back on now!...
Confirming that race team have ordered the new Clubsport race car and there is an embargo on details... check this out.

Porsche’s new-for-2019 GT4 contender has broken cover, with the new-generation Cayman GT4 Clubsport spied testing at Monza this week.
The car, believed to be based on the yet-to-be-launched Porsche 718 Cayman GT4, is expected to replace the current GT4 Clubsport MR in the German manufacturer’s customer racing lineup.
It is believed to feature an upgraded 3.8-liter flat-six powerplant, although multiple automotive publications have pointed to the road car utilizing a detuned version of the 4.0-liter flat-six found in the new 911 GT3.
While other details have been scarce, Sportscar365 understands that Porsche has already held private on-track events, including an outing at Daytona International Speedway in late July, for prospective customers.
Head of Porsche Motorsport Dr. Frank-Steffen Walliser wouldn’t confirm any details of the new Cayman GT4, other than that it will be racing next year.
“I cannot comment in detail on it but as a road car, this is way stricter on what we can announce,” he told Sportscar365.
“We have to stick with the plan for the road car. The race car has to follow the communications. But we’re doing something interesting.”
The new road and race cars are expected to be formally unveiled early next year.

Sorry if this has already been alluded to (135 pages is too many for me) but the list price of the new 718 gt4 and spyder will be very interesting. Even if it’s 30-40% higher than the original list of the 981s, that puts it slap bang in the middle of used 981s. No one will be paying 80-90k for one of those then. As someone ready to buy a 981 gt4, I’m definitely waiting to see what happens. I can see £10k drops across the board...

But the new 718 GT4 and Spyder will be for the lucky few direct from Porsche or minimum 10k overs from the flippers so don’t expect the existing one to drop 10k over night
Widely anticipated the initial flipped GT4s and Spyders will be c£110k minimum.Won't really affect the 981 GT4 and Spyder prices for at least 18 months.
