997.1 Tip Steering Wheel Swap?

Hi

I have a 2005 997.1 Tip and am looking to swap the steering wheel to a 3-SPOKE SPORT WITH PADDLE SHIFT. PORSCHE 997 PDK wheel.

I currently have the mutifunction wheel but never use the multifunctions so happy to lose it.

Is it possible to swap and what will I need to do to complete this?

Can anyone recommend any installers?

I appreciate I will need the wheel, the updated round airbag and probably the steering control module. Is there anything else I should consider?

I looked into this for a customer when the paddle wheel first became available; there is a major stumbling block with regards to the horn actuation - on the early version the horn is hardwired; later it goes through the CAN network via the steering column and front end control units.

Physically it will fit - same tube diameter and column spline count - the electrics are the issue.

Usually the USA fora has a workaround - goes off to check......
