This from Michelin via email this morning relating to PS4S in 20" for 718/981 "N" marked for Porsche...

Hi again David,

I just double checked with our stock and it seems that the tyres are still not available in the UK. The delivery is being delayed and I'm afraid that I can't give you a more precise answer as to when exactly you will be able to purchase them.

I am very sorry about this. Please let me know if I can help with anything else. And if you can wait for the tyres a bit more I will be happy to check the availability again next year.

Kind regards,
Vassilena

They are on Blackcircles now.

235/35/20 and 265/35/20
This from BlackCircles chat this morning...

"Andrew: Hi, how can I help you today?

Me: Hi, You list Michelin PS4S 235 35 20 & 265 35 20 with Porsche "N0" specifity. Are these in stock, as Michelin this morning told me they are NOT yet available in the UK?

Andrew: All tyres displayed on our website are in stock. Once a tyre goes out of stock we do not display it online.

Me: Are you sure they are "N" marked and not just generic ones?

Andrew: Let me check that for you once again.
We have Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S (265/35 R20 Y (99)) with Fuel - E, Wet - B, Noise 2-71db at £296.47 each (fully fitted)
blackcircles.com/catalogue/mic...
We have Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S (235/35 R20 Y (92)) with Fuel - E, Wet - B, Noise 2-71db at £234.82 each (fully fitted)
blackcircles.com/catalogue/mic...

Me: Yes, but do they have the Porsche N mark on the sidewall rather than just a general fitment tyre with no Porsche marking?

Andrew: Yes, these are N rating tyrs.

Me: Have you checked personally by looking at them? Just seems strange Michelin say they're not available? Are the tyres physically IN the UK?

Andrew: Yes, both are N0 rated tyres.
We supply our tyres from many different supplier which are not UK based suppliers."

So, maybe not IN the UK yet, but available TO the UK via international suppliers. Prices from UK suppliers may be better when available.

Guy on PCGB already has these fitted in the UK.

It's a shame Michelin CS are clueless every time any thing is asked regarding N spec.

First impressions are very good having only done a few miles.

The grip is outstanding - Pulling out of junctions where the p zeros would over rotate the PS4's are stuck to the road.
The steering feels slightly heavier. The ride comfort is very similar although it feels slightly busier on small bumps but rides potholes better. That could just be down to the tyre fitter putting the tyres at 2.3 bar as I usually run 2.1 or 2.2. They heat up quickly though, in the 10 mile commute home they went up to 2.5 bar so need careful monitoring.

Does a 0.2 BAR increase, cold to hot, differ much from your PZeros? I'm sure Porsche factor in the working temperature and temperature when specifying what to set them at when cold.

Steering is bound to feel heavier than the PZeros as you actually have some grip now.

FYI, Porsche 'cold' is 20C (according to my manual)
Set pressures at this temperature

the Pirellis are showing as wet performance class A, whereas the Michelin PS4Ses are class B.

my reason for swapping to Michelins would be to improve grip in tricky conditions. how are these results arrived at and which tyre (N0 Pirellis or Michelin PS4S) is better in wet/lower temps?

All I can tell you are the new PS4's have significantly better wet weather grip then the used P zeros I took off which will come as no great surprise. Can't really give you a definitive answer until they've been on for a year and they're down to 4mm

well, i had a set of lightly used PS4S tyres fitted (non N rated) and all i can say is that the car feels completely different with them on, and all in a good way.

the car now feels the way i always imagined in my head that it should feel. i have a 981CGTS with sports chassis and the first thing i noticed from the get go was the better ride quality. the Michelins somehow make a big difference to ride comfort even at very low speeds. scrubbing at full lock is all but gone whereas the Pirellis were just terrible in this regard.

but the main reason i wanted to try different tyres is that i always felt the Pirellis performed poorly in the wet, especially in lower temperatures. and this is where the Michelins surprised me even more. even in the freezing conditions we've been experiencing the car is so much better around corners at normal speeds.

haven't had a chance to test in decent weather yet but i can't imagine they won't be even better in warm and dry conditions.

It seems odd to have found a lightly used set of PS4S. What were the circumstances that the previous owner gave them up?

owner traded in his GTS for a GT4 and so had to return the GTS with Pirellis on. owner subsequently posted an ad for the Michelins on here and when i went to see them they looked in great condition so i decided to try them out.

It’s amazing the PS4S vs p zero difference.

People think I make st up, but I have another car on the p zero and they really do suck.

I really need to find someone who's gone from F1 A2s to PS4S to see what difference they've found. By the time I need new tyres I think the Michelins will be close to the Goodyear in price so will probably give them a go, although the GYs are streets ahead of the awful, awful, PZero N0s the car came with.

Just had a set of 4 MPS4S fitted to my 981 Cayman. The sidewalls feel very soft to touch, looking forward to 5 o'clock when I can go for a drive
Please let us have your thoughts. I presume they will stick like sh*t to a shovel, so what I'm really interested in is ride quality and road noise. Cheers.
For some context I have just replaced a set of N rated Goodyear Asymmetrics which were only two or three months old. Now it could be placebo but the Michelins feel very solid and not soft and wooly like the Goodyears. Officially they are 1DB louder than the Goodyears but can't say I've noticed...

Obviously it's cold and wet at the minute so no track orientated tyre is going to work well without getting some heat into it, but I look forward to seeing how things progress as the miles increase and I get to experience the tyre in more scenarios.

I went from them on my current R

I quite like the F1's but they don,t have the PS4s grip, a fun tyre though, but I binned them early for the new ps4s.

I'm thinking more of someone who has had the Goodyears for a fair while, say 5k miles, and then the Michelins for the same distance (or vice versa).

I do recall one of Camskill's "experts" saying they'd had a lot of customer complaints about the PS4 but maybe expectations were too high? In any case, he's talking about all sorts of makes/models so largely irrelevant.
