I'm sorry I'm posting such a lot, but I took this week off to drive my new car, and it hasn't happened so far because the excellent local B-roads are still in a real state because of the snow. So I'm looking for another outlet smile

I am genuinely interested to learn which cars you owned on the journey to your first Porsche. Don't worry about all the subsequent ones. To kick off, here's my list:

Fiat 127
Polo
Fiesta
Astra
Astra GTE
Nova GTE
Escort XR3i
Sierra estate (lowest point)
Citroen AXGT (fab)
Peugeout 309 GTd (I think)
Sierra Sapphire
Beetle 1500
Polo
Punto
Polo
Rover Mini Cooper
BMW Mini Cooper
MX-5 R-Ltd
MX-5 B-Ltd
Nissan 350z
Porsche Cayman beer

Love to read your list.

Obviously, I don’t have an extensive list of cars behind me, but I’m only 20 and so have only been driving for 3.5 years. I haven’t had enough time yet to build up a nice portfolio rolleyes

Hoping my next step is a 718 GTS.
Hey man, you're doing really well! By the time I was your age, I was still on the Astras smile

I’m a female, but thanks wink Just saw the pictures of your new car on your other thread - what a stunning motor. The sapphire blue looks great! Also, you’re lucky they made your handover special with the cover and the little sign etc. When I collected my 718C, the car was left outside in the customer car park in the rain! furious
I apologise unreservedly; it says everything about me (and the world) that it never even occurred to me that you were anything other than male.

Thanks for your very kind comments, and your dealer should be ashamed, frankly.

Great fun, I still have a soft spot for it.

The only reason I got rid of it was because I was doing a lot more motorway miles for work at the time.

Thanks, I do like my cars and have an incredibly understanding wife who tolerates my changing cars every 18 / 24 months (apart from the 964, which I’ve had for 18 years !!).

As long as I don’t drag her along to too many car showrooms whilst I’m shopping for the next one, she’s happy ! Luckily I have a best mate who is as much of a car nut as I am, so we tend to go car shopping together ... which is why we currently both have M4 Comp Packs - that made the sales guy’s day when we ordered those laugh

Last year a mate asked me how many cars I have owned over the years. He started writing them down.
It was 60 something not including motorcycles, vans and lorries.
15 Porsches, only two of them water cooled
So I have a bit of a theme going on and I am only 25.
Well in my mind I still am whilst the body might take issue with that statement smile
