Highest mileage 718s - any issues so far?

Ok, so 18,000 miles in 17 months is not exactly high mileage, but I was wondering if anyone had encountered any problems running one day to day. I know there have been a couple of (hopefully isolated) issues reported on delivery but for me, other than having to take it back to the dealer once to get the tracker reset after 12 months (as Vodafone lost the signal) I’ve had no issues at all to report and it really has been fault free motoring as you would expect. (I think the only other minor issue I had is the PCM froze once whilst in nav mode, but this was not a problem as it just rebooted itself.). Any one had any problems so far ? (Any smart-arsed comments about ‘engine sound’ should be posted in the other thread!)
Hi Jimbo and others, I know this is from years gone by, but I've just picked up a 2017 Cayman, 14,000 miles and plan on doing some serious distances in it over the next two years whilst I have the Porsche approved warranty. I've had it a week so-far and already clocked up over 1400 miles (10% of the cars past 4 years of use in 7 days lol). I do a lot of miles for my job/business and the car will be used properly and over serviced as I simply don't believe that 20k mileage intervals should be a thing on a highly tuned, turbocharged motor like this one.So, did you have any issues after this? Do you still have the car? I'm keen to know the story.

Without teaching you to suck eggs; I fully agree with at least an annual oil & filter change, just be aware that if you’re on the extended warranty, you’ll need to get that done at an OPC - which is multiples of the cost it should be. Your other option is just to get it done/do it yourself and not record it in any way.

Plan is currently to have a specialist perform the oil changes and just keep the invoices as a record with strict instructions not to reset any service intervals or stamp the book etc. I'll still take it to Porsche for its annual/20k interval. Currently doing around 25 - 30k miles a year so should be interesting to see how reliability plays out. Hence my post to see how things were getting on with OP's 718. Although, I'm terrible for keeping cars longer than about 5 minutes. My last car (BMW i3S Rex) only lasted 4 months, but in that time did 13,000 miles...(wanted to test the whole electric thing). Hopefully this one will last so long as I can afford to keep running it.
Anyone got any other things to watch out for or preventative maintenance theories? So far I've got.
I've heard it'll get stone chips all over it and go through a windscreen or two, I'm already over cautious of this and drive a million miles away from anything rear/4 wheel drive.
Car is currently running on Tesco Special Brew 99' though thinking of joining Porsche Club GB for the Esso fuel discount thing.
10k self imposed oil changes.
Manual car because I don't trust the dual clutch transmissions despite claims of 'bulletproofness'. + has sport chrono with rev match so what's not to love?
Any other suggestions?

my late 2017 2.0 718 is on just over 43k
I've driven 13k of them - but in it's life it's had a new rear spoiler actuator because it gave up. New rear lights because they misted up and a new exhaust tip because it was corroded. All covered under it's original new car 3 year warranty.
it has espresso natural leather and it's a little worn on the drivers side bolster - it's stone chip free because a just eat scooter tried to take the front bumper off last year so it got replaced........
Apart from that just routine stuff.

Whoa! Just noticed this blast from the past with my name in it.So, did you have any issues after this? Do you still have the car? I'm keen to know the story.
I only kept my 718 Cayman 2.0 for 3000 more miles after my last post. The stone chips were sorted out by having the front bumper painted, and I traded it in as close to mint as a 17,000 mile car can be. It was faultless throughout the time I owned it. 2 tyre replacements due to punctures, paint on front bumper. Probably the best car I have ever owned, but read on...
Traded in against a 981 GT4 back in October 2018. Still have that one and has been daily drive when roads aren't salty ever since. Took delivery of a new 718 Cayman 2.0 in identical spec to my original one November 2021. 1200 miles in 2.5 months, so it seems unlikely I'll be racking them up as quickly as the first one, and nothing like as quickly as you. (Bitter-sweet, was doing regular 600 mile round trips to visit a terminally ill parent when I had the first one.)
981 GT4 has been ever so slightly less than faultless. Was recalled for gearbox replacement, as they all were. Within a couple of weeks of getting it back the clutch release arm pivot started squeaking. Had a short debate with dealer about warranty and clutch, and they took it back with an agreement that if it was their mistake it would be FOC. Happily they 'fessed up (potentially on the basis that it had to be their fault). So despite slightly less than faultless, has cost me nothing beyond routine servicing so far. Also a nice car, but the base 718 is a better road car in almost all ways.

Base 718 PDK, registered Jan 2017 (bought by me Oct 2017 with 3,000 miles), now 22,000 miles (thanks to COVID restricting our planned European tours in 2020 & 2021).
Needed a new PCM under 3 year warranty when the sat nav screen just froze.
Rear light lenses mist up but was told this was due to them being LED so not replaced - I didn’t push it.
New tyres replaced last year on around 19,000 miles.
Went in for recall just recently on new side vent mesh inserts (previous mesh inserts on recall were replaced).
Whilst there underwent a video health check and they highlighted the following:-
1) slight leak from coolant pump
2) slight oil leak from turbo
3) oil leak from PDK gearbox which they thought was from top flange (but it was tracking down onto the gearbox oil sump)
They didn’t say any were urgent although I took advice from PCGB technical advisor who suggested the coolant pump should possibly be replaced as if it goes, it’s catastrophic.
A bit concerned about the PDK oil leak although there are no leaks on the garage floor - I know a place locally who can repair PDK but hopefully it’s not an immediate issue.
COVID has really restricted usage and I’m not sure whether that is responsible for the leaks.
Still love the car and we’ve done 2 multi country tours (2018 & 2019) in Europe where it is the perfect car. We have our twice delayed European to look forward to late June/July this year - fingers crossed.

So for those who’re interested I’ve had the car a month (31 days) and it’s done 5,000 miles in my ownership.
First thing to happen was a chipped windscreen, roughly 3 days in. Had this repaired with a local chap at a cost of £50. Autocrass wanted £200 the thieving…
Then the tyre pressure warning light reared it’s ugly head. “Oh dear oh dear oh dear, it’s the nearside rear” I said. Took it to a well known auto centre that fixes things kwikly and they said it was fixable. AND the chap did it for free. My wallet and I sighed with relief.
Then, without warning, my seatbelt decided to turn itself around. It must have been like this when the car was delivered to me, but in the haze of excitement, I’d not noticed.
Then the weather warmed up and I decided to crack the window open to listen to the sweet sweet WRX burble. Only to find myself grinding gears like nobody’s business… until I realised I wasn’t actually changing gears and the sound was in fact the sports exhaust system which has some kind of terrible crunching sound every time you pass through 1900 revs.
Booked in with Porsche Centre Wilmslow on the 1st of April, hopefully they don’t try and play any tricks on me. I’ll keep the thread updated for any future 718 owners who might stumble upon this when most 718’s become leggy.
Total cost of ownership excluding finance and petrol to date: £50
Average fuel consumption seems to sit around 34mpg reliably across mixed driving.
Motorway fuel consumption: 40mpg easily achievable at indicated 70mph.
Disclaimer: I probably won’t be doing this many miles every month. The excitement of getting the car has lead me to drive it almost everywhere, but I think next month will be less heavy… we’ll see.

Thanks for the update. Definitely interested as since my 2018 post I have started again with a fresh new 718 that I will most likely keep quite a bit longer, and you are racking up miles at a rate faster than me. Keep them coming.<snip>

The OP asked about high mileage.
Two pages in, and I haven't seen any high mileage answers yet.
Main thing you may have missed is that the OP and page 1 is from almost 4 years ago. Hopefully we might see some responses from people that kept their 718s and put some miles on them. My car from page 1 got sold in October 2018. I've had a used 981 and other vehicles in-between.The OP asked about high mileage.

Goodness, your correct.
How did I miss that?
Hopefully there will be a few more posts.
Cheers.

40k being the highest, which to me, is not a high mileage car.
Watching with interest.
To be honest COVID screwed my mileage over 2020/2021 with planned European road trips knocked on the head. Now replanned for this year. The OP asked about high mileage.

We could have used it for our trip to the Dordogne in Sep 2020 but my wife invited her bloody sister so had to take our daily instead - annoyingly the weather was hot & sunny - just what a Boxster is for. And on top of all that, I took partial retirement so that restricted my mileage (you’d think it would be the other way round but I use my car on business - just returned from Leeds today after a 200 mile trip - a nice 37mpg average easily achieved at a steady 80mph!)
