Hopefully someone can help, finally got my hands on a 57 plate Boxster (2.7) which is great , its the sports edition so lots of good bits to it and its great, apart from 2 things.

1) exhaust isnt loud enough- i dont want to wake the dead with the car, but its a weekend car and needs a bit more theatre with it, just something to allow the growl to come out !- anyone got any suggestions as i dont have a massive budget (did get sent a link to a capristo system which was great until i got a quote !!)

2) stereo is really bad - even though its got the sound pack + system its really bad, was looking at new head unit and speakers. any suggestions for set ups ??

Im based in Surrey (Banstead) with frequent visits to east sussex so looking for something and someone fairly local.

All help greatly appreciatted !! Thanks all !

Can't help with the stereo but for the exhaust Gert is your man.

Worth a trip to get it done or he will do an exchange for your existing system if you know someone who will fit it locally.

I've got a 2007 2.7 Cayman with Carnewall exhaust and Gert is great. had a weekend drive out there and he did the work in a couple of hours. Even gave me and the misuses a lift into town for a spot of lunch while he did the work, and then picked us up after. Took 4-500 miles for it to bed in, and IMHO when you first start it up from cold it can sound a little raspy. But once warm and above 4k-rpm, it sounds great.

There are loads of threads on here about aftermarket stereo, I've even posted my own about linking headunits to the ASK Amp

That’s great thanks, looks like gert can send the system and assume it’s reasonably simple to fit. I also got recommended a Haywood and Scott silencer system, does anyone know what these are like ?.

The issue when changing exhausts on these cars is dealing with severely corroded studs at the flange joints at the connection to the manifolds. It's a pig of a DIY job and Porsche specialists charge up to 4 hours labour. This can be a fair bit more expensive than popping over to Gert's which is about 90 minutes from the tunnel if I recall correctly.
