Long term Porsche owner looking for info on DB9 Volante.
Discussion
Having now had 7 x 911’s over 10 years I’m looking for something more relaxing yet sporting while keeping my 911 GT3RS . Looking for info on the DB9 Volante as it’ll be a nice combo alongside the hardcore RS. Looking around a 2012 model (was this the year of the upgrade / facelift) and were their any limited edition model Volante’s to add that extra degree of exclusivity ?
Thanks in advance for any input / advice offered .

Ive had a DB9V for 5 years and have been very satisfied.
It's had its annual services and a few bits and bobs.
I still get a thrill from just looking at it and admiring it's elegance.
Be aware that the rear seats are only suitable for children and the boot is relatively small for quite a large GT.
Astons are fairly exclusive in any format and are always treated with respect by other peeps.

I have a 2009 DB9V after 5 911 s ( via a 4.7 Vantage Roadster)
If you re keeping the 911 then the DB9 will be a perfect stablemate because they both do very different things in very different ways !
The Auto makes it an easy cruiser / heavy traffic negotiator-the paddle shift allows some fun when required- you will notice the scuttle shake when you press on
Reliability is generally good -aside from normal maintenance I ve had only 1 x £1000 main dealer fix problem in 7 years of the 2 Astons -
Main dealer fixed price servicing is reasonable pricewise though possibly variable quality wise! - I get things like brakes done locally - just replaced front discs & pads ( It s a heavy car!) for £450 all in
You will,of course, have to get used to being let out at junctions …etc.

Thank you so far for the DB9V feedback . I find the PH forum so handy when doing research on a potential new purchase . For the first time I was going to ask the question on the DB9 Facebook page but it’s a public group (as opposed to closed) meaning all and sundry can see what Im asking . I like to keep my purchases low key.
Did the DB9V ever come in a limited edition or limited run model ?

There was a Carbon Edition in 2014/15 (astonmartins.com suggests only 66 Volante built). But as far as I’m aware it was just cosmetic bits and pieces
The big think to focus on is the model update with revised engine/suspension and styling. That was iirc MY13 (so cars built from September 2012 or so)

If your budget can stretch to it, the run-out DB9GT is the one to go for. Power upgrade to 540bhp with the later Vanquish-style waterfall dash. IIRC they weren't a limited edition per se, but given Vanq2 was out at the time, and DB11 had been announced, production numbers would be tiny.
This is beautiful (but pricey):

There was also a 'Bond Edition' of which 150 units were made, but I think these were coupe-only
