What bits have you still got for cars that you long since so
Discussion
Oh, go on then.
A ducellier coil for a Renault 5 Gordini
A Borg & Beck clutch kit for a Mk1 Golf GTI
The tag that said 'Lea Francis' has fallen off. But the club didn't recognise it anyway.

That could make for an interesting thread : "What bits have you still got for cars that you long since sold ?". In my case it would be mainly Riley 1.5 and Jaguar 420, I think.
EGR exhaust manifold for a Volvo 850 2.5A Borg & Beck clutch kit for a Mk1 Golf GTI

Mostly '60s and '70s Mini bits from owning far too many of them in the last thirty years - several sets of Hills and Bluemels number plates, a pair of Mk2 rear lamps, Mk2 Cooper interior trim, various makes of 10'' aftermarket alloys, Cooper and Cooper S badges, the old green log book for my 1970 Mk2 Mini 1000 (long since departed this mortal coil) and a period wooden dashboard kit which needs refinishing. Somewhere in the garage is the speedometer and a pair of fog lamps from a Rover P5B Coupe, plus the large rear number plate (with a cherished number 'XHY 876' on it) from my Series 2 XJ6.
I actually wish I'd kept more stuff - when I scrapped my first car, a 1977 Mini 1000 it still had Innocenti seats, door trims and instruments and a Moto-Lita steering wheel, like a fool I let it all go to the crusher!

Sod "no longer own" - I've got a stack of st for cars I've never, ever owned.
I look into my sheds and despair.
That made me laugh. Mr., you've got it bad.I look into my sheds and despair.
I'll add various ignition parts for a Golf I sold a few years ago.
I've also got touch-up paints for cars long gone!
My dad's garage is astonishing for the amount of redundant car bits; doors, wheels, seats, carbs, steering wheels, possibly an Imp rear screen (not sure about that but I wouldn't be surprised).

Gosh, think of all the Citroens that must have been scrapped because owners couldn't find the parts to repair them with. And you're hoarding them all in your sheds!I look into my sheds and despair.
Of course, the scrapped cars then get broken and offered for spares which people like you buy "just in case" and hoard in sheds.
Not sure who is the victim and who is the perpetrator in this situation

Ah, but the ste I've got is the bits that never go wrong, while the cars were scrapped because of the bits that always go wrong and you can never find.Of course, the scrapped cars then get broken and offered for spares which people like you buy "just in case" and hoard in sheds.

If I had a shed full of those bits, I'd be rich.
Not even Citroen in the 70s managed to make glass rust.
Some random interior trim from a 2001 Alfa 156 Sport Wagen
New heater blower for a late 1980sVW T25 Van (bought in error and never returned!)
Pair of Solex Carbs (need refurb)
Early 90s stereo, old headrest speakers and broken electric window motor from Mazda Eunos
Stereo from a 1990 mk1 MR2 (back lighting doe not work, from memory)
A bent alloy wheel from a 2000 VX220.
Various damaged blocks and a blown piston from Yamaha RD250s
A couple of parcel shelves from unknown motors.
Plus, no doubt, some crap I don't even know about.
Not sure why I don't take it all on my next tip run.... in fact, I will.

My old man has a rear seat from a 1967 mini which hasn’t seen the light of day since 1984. It was his show car with only 14,000 miles on it when it was stolen. He changed the rear seat so it wouldn’t be ruined and was only put in for when the car was shown.
He also has 2 cushions for the rear seats of a sunbeam alpine which a friend asked him to look after. He never returned from abroad so I presume he still has them stored. That was in about 1982.

I have a brand new, full set of windows for a Golf MkI Cabriolet; another set for a MkIII Escort Convertible; some Sierra glass; Vauxhall Omega windows... I could go on.
They're all taking up usable space but I dare not chuck 'em because we know what happens the week after you do that don't we?
