There used to be a black 428 coupe smoked about our town (Durham) in the mid to late 80s. Laid back older driver, chain smoking, you know the usual 70s GT man before such cars became stupid expensive investor things.

I always wondered what became of it and if it still survived, AFAICR it had a black interior (loved the goalpost shifter!) and black knock off minilites. Urban legend when it disappeared was he put it on its roof, but the storyteller was prone to exaggeration.

Does that sound like any car still on your register?

I wish I had taken a photograph back then which might have helped,,,,Like the semi unique white Lotus Essex Esprit Turbo that used to live a few hundred metres away from my home and now the subject of internet controversy!

No idea afraid, in any case since then all of them would have been restored and resprayed by now if only because they were very prone to rust especially the convertibles, which rumour has it that the Frua factory in Milan sourced a lot of the metal from scrapped Russian fridges and old Italian street signs.

So if you ever see a fastback press the middle of the roof ever so lightly and you'll see what I mean....biggrin
