Buffy re-boot....
Discussion
My hear sank when I read the BBC article, especially when the raison d'etre is for ethnic diversity.
I would be fine if as another poster has stated, they explored a different direction i.e. Buffy & the Gang as adults, w/ Buffy more wiser, sadder, and jaded. Not exactly a barrel of laughs.
In terms of ethnic diversity of the original series, we had Kendra. Oh. Oh ..., yeah. Kendra. She was cringe worthy to watch back then let alone re-watching 2 decades later.
If the whole ethnic diversity thing is driving the reboot, then no. Leave the series alone and do something different and new with ethnic diversity. If on the other hand, there is the opportunity to explore a different direction, then maybe, although I doubt if I fall into the target audience.
Goddamnit, stop the remakes / reboots of films or series that do not need to be remade! Whoever keeps signing off on remakes needs to be horse-whipped within an inch of their lives.
P.s. I have series 1-5 on DVD, and like a great many series of the time e.g. Babylon 5, the recording has not aged well in terms of murkiness, colour saturation, etc.

Another reboot with added diversity?
Are the people behind all these initiatives so devoid of original ideas? There seems to be a whole industry based on rehashing old (good) ideas, making them dogst and them complaining when audience doesn't like them. The audience is then blamed for their dislike of the new (crap) content and various -ists and -isms are used against them.
Anyone seen the preview images from the new She-Ra reboot?

Dear Mr Whedon.
Whilst I understand rebooting old shows with diversity or gender swapping is the current fashion I would like to bring to your attention another more important matter that needs your immediate action.
Quit the Buffy reboot bks and give us Series 2 of Firefly.
yours
The World
Ps. please do not genderblend it.
