A simple but perhaps naive question: Is it possible to retro fit the trip computer to our 2000 model 986 Boxster. I've seen the stalks for sale and wondered if this could simply be fitted to the column and connected into the loom and then the rev-counter will display the information, assuming all revcounters are the same.

You can also retrofit cruise control. Take a look on renntech.org.

Thanks Richard. The car has actually got cruise control but not the much more useful trip computer. So am I correct in thinking I simply buy a secondhand operating stalk and fit it to the steering column and connect it up to what I assume will be a connector already in the loom and bingo, the rev-counter will now display the information selected?

The OBC stalk connects to the instrument cluster. Drop me an email via my profile page, and I'll send you instructions and a wiring diagram.

Isn't there some dealer programming involved?
