Porsche Cayman S smoke and front fans on full blast.
Discussion
I will need to take this to my local specialist when I get a chance but just wanted to see if anyone else had had this issue -
I have a 2007 Cayman that I have had for a few years without issue - over Christmas on start up (pulling away) I had some smoke coming from somewhere in the front bonnet which then got sucked into the cockpit through the vents - this was accompanied by a burning smell. This lasted a few seconds and then disappeared. - This has not happened again but I noticed that the front radiator fans are constantly at full pelt on both sides (very loud)
- at first I thought it was my clutch going due to the smell but it seems to drive ok - I won't be using it again until I have had it checked but has anyone else had this?

Hi There I may be able to partly help mate-- on the front fan at full blast it will almost certainly be a stone stuck in one of the fans and the opposite side one compensating like hell.
Happened to me a couple of times on 911s with a bit of luck try fiddling a screwdriver in the vent I front of spare wheel and flick the fan itself CAREFULLY as you don't want to damage the rad!! the stone will dislodge
Cheers Roy
