I use a Kenu Airframe that fits in the air vent. Totally recommended.
Yep.. can also vouch for the Kenu, used it for 3years in my Cayman GTS, but make sure you check which fits your phone especially if it’s one of the very large screen ones.I’ve also used Mega mount...again mounted into the air vent... this is what I use on the GT4 now... as I only had the smaller size Kenu and when I changed phone it didn’t fit anymore.
Also over time I had some rubbing of the Kenu on the dash, as it was kind of braced against it, and also with the movement of clipping the phone in and out.
Mega mount is magnetic so plate slips underneath my case and just attaches to the mount easily.. one hand operation and no worry about needing to change it if I did a phone of different size.. jus t put the plate behind the case of the new phone...voilá

I tried magnetic mounts in my previous car but I found that the phone would inevitably fall off during a spirited drive or even when going round roundabouts.
I use one of these in my 718 (also fits 981):

It's solid, doesn't mark and the phone connects to the USB socket in the glove box for power. All good.

I am a quad.lock fan.
Use my phone in any car, or bike and the covers are tough as nails , a great system.
I have a quad lock too.. was experimenting with it, but actually don’t like it as you have use their case which I don’t really like. But some people swear by them.Use my phone in any car, or bike and the covers are tough as nails , a great system.

I've used this style of mount for years now https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07L2STBQ9?pf_...
My A4 with virtual cockpit has such good tech that there is no need to mount the phone anywhere any more so it stays plugged in for Apple Car Play.
The above vent mounted mount I have used in many hire cars, plus in my 891 as the nav is dire and in my classic - not once have I not managed to find a convenient mount point and it's never dropped or damaged the phone(s).
I have a real issue with screen mounted systems and avoid them completely.
