Hi my friend has a 981 cayman gts . He has left his car for about 3 months now and the battery is totally flat. He is unable to unlock the car . Even with the emergency key it will not unlock.
Has anyone else experienced this.

Mmm, there's also a little snippet here that suggests you need to turn the key clockwise on RHD cars rather than anti-clockwise. Might be worth a try?

is there a way of taking the bottom trim off the car underneath the front bumper and releasing the front trunk latch? you could then charge the battery

Problem solved ,like smiljams helpfully post. The manual is wrongly printed for uk cars. Emergency key has to turn clock wise. Bit stiff but my friend managed to unlock his car. Many thanks for your help.

And after getting access to the car, if the power is properly low you might need to apply power to get the front lid open

After reading the title, I thought you were going to say "He's too fat" :-)

With a completely flat battery he may need to recode the car
