I would def keep the sports wheels, they are wider and take the newer tyres better and are rare and look better !
it looks great how it is, DON'T swap the wheels to normal ones !!!
I agree. Classics or Carrera S are very common. Your wheels look great.it looks great how it is, DON'T swap the wheels to normal ones !!!
We have a white BMW and Rhodium 981. Silver is best for dirt, but the white just seems to turn a different shade. Never looks dirty until you start to wash it!
But the flies!!! Come summer they put tiny black dots all over it. White attracts them. A devil to get off.

As you suggest, part of the deal. For context:

I’ve been thinking long and hard and decided PDK isn’t the deal breaker I thought.
I was fixated on a manual because that’s what I’ve always had, and enjoyed. It wasn’t until I stopped and reflected on the test drive I realised I’d actually enjoyed driving despite/because of the auto box. So maybe I can live with it, maybe it’d be better than the manual. Anyway, I’m not ruling it out because of that.
PASM would be great, but again, the drive didn’t suffer for lack of it so maybe it’s something else I could ‘lose’.
You offered to switch the wheels to the Carrera Classic I prefer, so as long as they’re in good nick with decent tyres we have another point in favour.
I still have concerns about the relatively high miles for a three year old Porsche – typically they show 5-6,000 p.a., not the near 12k miles for this one. This also means it’s coming up to a major service in the near future, probably plus plugs and brake fluid. First MOT due next month too.
I’m thinking about all of this and still considering my options…
Is there anything you can think of that I’ve missed or should be thinking about, or anything you can do to ease my decision?
Thanks again for an informative and enjoyable couple of hours – much appreciated.
It was a cheap option for them to include and quell some of my reservations. It cost them next to feck all yet worth maybe £1,000 to me.I was fixated on a manual because that’s what I’ve always had, and enjoyed. I use my 981 as a daily. Doing around 10k p/a in it. Why? because i didn't pay to have it sat on my drive.I still have concerns about the relatively high miles for a three year old Porsche – typically they show 5-6,000 p.a

That's what I've never understood. Outside of the GT, aircooled and classics, it costs so much each month just to have it sat depreciating in the garage doing nothing if you're doing minimal mileage I'd rather just run the one car, as each additional one usually has so many associated fixed costs not to mention the dealer spread.
Still, each to their own and all that.

Tried the 718 first and quite liked it - very quick. For me though, there's a bit more drama with the 981 - really gelled with it. They both had the same sticker price, the 718 much newer and only 9,000 miles so should probably be the right choice, but I just felt at home in the 981.
Re the welcome, it turns out I know the salesman anyway, CobraChris on here.
How did you get on?
Trawling YouTube found this video showing access to several service/maintenance areas. Thought it may be of interest to others.

oooh...those callipers have rusty faux bolts and look very grey....I have 100K on my 2013 981 and mine haven't rusted. Reckon the valets have been spraying the chemicals on those wheels!
The pad locating bolts are non-replaceable. When my fronts rusted my OPC offered to go 50/50 on replacing the front calipers. I only had to pay £500 for one. I opted to wire brush, rust treat, and "paint" with a permanent marker. Have been fine for 2 years, 25k miles.Suggest the OP gets his changed before paying. As for silvering, no chemicals on mine and they still went silver. I quite like it compared to black. Stands out less.
