Just out of interest who are you using for your PPF ?

I’ve had 2 quotes so far ...Topaz & N.V.N...
I'm from the Midlands and so I use Staffordshire Car Care. They stage 1 corrected the paint first. They only use XPel. I had front PPF and the side sills with the area around the side pods done (behind the doors). I then had their 5yr gyeon ceramic coat put on top. I've used them before many times and they are great, super helpful and their aftercare is excellent. Their work on my car is here https://youtu.be/lI2rK1h03Pg
Thanks for sharing...

Spyder looks awesome, congratulations...

Just used SCC to ceramic coat my Mini JCW - first class service and sensible price.

That looks like a very professional process. I have a GT3RS arriving soon and I wondered, without be to specific, what kind of cost is involved in correction and PPF.

Cheers

Have a look at Max Protect for the PPF I have had a couple of cars PPF’d by a bigger firm and wasn’t 100% impressed. I have used them subsequently and been very impressed. They’re located near to JZM so do a lot of work on Porsche’s.

I have a 3RS arriving next month and will ask SCC to quote me also. Mines WP and so I'll double PPF the bonnet and maybe roof. It depends on what you having done but for full ppf, i'ld expect to pay around £5,500 and ceramic on top. This is not definitive a d I suggest you contact them directly as they are reasonably priced...

Picked up my 718 Spyder earlier today. Totally thrilled with it! I’ll post a more detailed review after spending some more time with it. Thought I’d share some pics for anyone waiting on theirs and contemplating spec choices.

Looks amazing - what spec did you go for internally.

Had to finalise my spec today and also went for GT Silver but with black wheels.

Interested to know what you went for internally.

Thanks

Black extended leather with silver/white stitching and the dark anthracite aluminum trim because I love that in my GT3 Touring. Silver seatbelts and LWBs. Went for leather steering wheel and gear shifter.

It’s tough to lock down a spec. And there are always things to doubt. But come delivery it always comes together nicely.

Sharing here too some very initial impressions I got from a quick and very limited drive home I made earlier today having picked her up from the dealer....

I did a drive for about an hour after picking her up. Also taking it easy and was mostly through the city rather than any interesting roads. Breaking in so did not venture past 4000 rpm.

Steering is wonderful. A huge improvement. Feels like my GT3 RS Gen 2. Wonderful weight and surprising amount of feel and directness.

Gearbox is a delight, super short in throw and riffle bolt in action. Very similar in feeling to My GT3 Touring which is a huge compliment!

Can’t comment on the gearing as I was short shifting the whole time. But I’m super impressed with the engine and how much more torque it has. It revs more freely for sure and I’m imagining that it will make the long gearing less of an issue for some people as it spins up more quickly to the red line. Time will tell as I get through that break in period.

Engine and exhaust sound is very different. I’m not saying I prefer the 981 to this or that I prefer this to the 981 but it is deeper in tone with more of a rumble. Reminds me of the boom like deep throated rumble that happens in my GT3 Touring when the valves open. Again can’t really comment until I can fully open her up but I would say it’s really does sound fantastic at idle and at lower RPMs especially with the sports exhaust on. No overrun backfiring or artificial burbles and I’m personally very happy about that as its more in line with the GT3 and RS and for me less tiring and more about the sound of the engine and exhaust under load rather than when changing gear or lifting off the gas.

Suspension is very compliant and not at all harsh in the softest setting. Did not try the stiffer option yet. Too early to comment more as did not push through any more challenging corners.

I’m looking forward to having the roof down for the first time for a more intense and aural experience and experiencing more over the coming kms.

I think the wheels you're looking for are platinum (satin-finish) for the UK market. If you tick the box you can have silver etc

If there truly was a l-o-n-g gearing issue it would show up most in these conditions. The next ratio would be too high as you changed into it.

Most often criticised is the 1st to 2nd interval with people saying 2nd should be a much lower ratio and then bring all the other gears down to suit.

Personally I think 2nd and 3rd are absolutely brilliant in these cars. My money says that in normal driving you'll be shifting 1-2-4-6 as soon as you feel the car's run in.

Looks amazing. Congratulations. I’ve gone for Crayon / black wheels / PCCBs / yellow stitching etc. Due in October (hopefully). Very excited now having seen and read about yours.

I’ve been told they will get allocation notifications in November.

That would be about right for Q1 2020. They get them about six weeks before each quarter starts from what I can make out.
