Notice on the UK Porsche web site they have removed the "*limited availability" against 718 Spyder and GT4. Im sure it was there and possibly still is but I cant see it. Is this a sign that indeed they wont be limiting production volumes this time?
Spoke to a chap today, he got a call from his local Porsche dealership this month, and offered a March slot GT4, he wasn't even on the waiting list, only bought one 911 (non GT) from the dealer last year.Lucky chap, happened to answer his phone at the right time, and be in a position to say yes.

From what you said a few pages back, I'm wondering if they had/have a buyer lined up for your CGTS, hence the email...
maybe just a combination of factors? improved supply of 718GT4/Spyder, VIP customers waiting for GT4RS or maybe they're going for a Taycan instead? i think they just went through their books and cold called in order of how much ££ they they thought they could extract from a potential deal. they said they had plenty of LOIs in and a queue of people waiting (which i believe), so the only reason I was called is because they could have made more from me via forced px/finance. the option to just buy the car no strings was not on the table.
Wasn't this always the case? The impression was always given that if you wanted one, you will probably get one, you might just have to wait.
Same with the 981 to be fair, if you persisted then you could get one of the last ones. The difference now is the car market has had it's reality check, and people aren't as confident to throw money at cars now it may not be free motoring.

As a rough guess, one car per month per OPC seems about the level at the moment for GT4s. Over the suggested production run, that would be
2019: 3 x 35 = 105
2020: 12 x 35 = 420
2021: 12 x 35 = 420
2022: 6 x 35 = 210
That's approx 1200 UK cars, or twice as many as last time, over 3 years. There were 600 UK 981 GT4s built over 12 month period (mid 2015 - mid 2016) with many non-GT Cayster slots being re-allocated to GT4 builds instead.

There are currently 42 UK OPCs. 2019: 3 x 35 = 105
2020: 12 x 35 = 420

Unconvinced there will be production into 2022.
I forgot the factory shuts in August and probably half of December, so that would make it:
2019: 3.5 x 42 = 147
2020: 10.5 x 42 = 441
2021: 10.5 x 42 = 441
2022: 7 x 42 = 294
So that would be ~1300 cars. If they don't go into 2022 model year and finish at the 2021 summer shutdown, possibly leaving the factory free to produce the RS models after that point, that would give:
2019: 3.5 x 42 = 147
2020: 10.5 x 42 = 441
2021: 7 x 42 = 294
So ~900 cars.

Ireland only has one OPC, and aI was lucky to get the only 2019 slot (although I won’t be picking it up until Jan, as it arrives late Dec)... and as far as I know they only have 2 slots for 2020.
they get new slots every 3 months.Every GT car or this GT4?
