How did you get the activation code required for the app?
The 718’s are still on the old system which is a bit long winded... you need to follow these steps:1: You should receive a “Please confirm your new vehicle” email – This is generated as soon as they scan your car into the UK at the docks.
2: Follow the link and setup the “Connect Services” in “My Porsche” – You will see a “PCM pairing code” that you need to send to your OPC for them to enter into the car.
3: Go to the Porsche Vodafone Telematics site and add your new car - https://pcc.vodafonetelematics.com/cwp/login.do
4: Step 3 will generate a “Dealer Service Installation Code” and form which you need to send to your OPC for them to enter into the car.
5: Download the Porsche “Car Connect” mobile app.
6: Once your OPC completes step 4 you will receive a text with an activation code to enter into the Porsche “Car Connect” mobile app.

I’m collecting my Spyder from my OPC next Friday and I absolutely cannot wait – I know exactly what you mean, it really is that kid waiting for Christmas feeling (rarely experienced as an adult).
In the interim, she’s been at Topaz for the last week receiving Paint Correction, Full PPF and Ceramic - Another fantastic level of finish and service by the Topaz team, I highly recommend them.

Some lovely cars arriving. I look forward to reading your thoughts on them once you've picked them up!
Re plastic dash, can you spec the leather dash without all the other leather as well? I thought you had to go all in at c.£4k or as another way of looking at it, the buckets seats.
Not that I have a slot, but leather dash and dual air con would be a long way behind buckets and club sport on a GT car.

If you're happy with silver stitching, you need the leather interior option at £1242 for the leather dash. The same thing with red or yellow stitching also needs the £834 decorative stitching option.
Yep, it's £834 to have red or yellow - no other differences.
That was over £2k on the GT3...so it's almost a bargain. You'd have to be a real fool to pay £2k for yellow stitching Yep, it's £834 to have red or yellow - no other differences.
Interesting hearing such strong views on the plastic dash...
For me, I don't particularly see the need to add 10-20kg of cow to the inside of a sports car on top of the existing dash board but then I also have an Elise so am used to sparse surroundings.
Climate control was certain no for me, I prefer manual controls of the air conditioning.
I was pondering the Chrono as I like the look of it but it is an awful lot of money for what is essentially just a clock and from what I see adds nothing else really?

Personally I'm with you - I can't get fixated with bits of the car I can't touch. However, even Alpine recognise that isn't a universal view - and have a leather dash as standard. But I doubt it costs them even 10kg. Even then Alpine get criticised for bits of hard plastic. For me, I don't particularly see the need to add 10-20kg of cow to the inside of a sports car on top of the existing dash board but then I also have an Elise so am used to sparse surroundings.

If they are to be financially viable both Lotus and Alpine have to recognise the market that they are operating (even if some of us may have different priorities)

Chrono adds the mode switch including the configurable mode so it’s actually quite useful. Bit of a “must have” on a GT car now it adds that.
Do you mean the mode switch on the steering wheel?GT cars don't have that as far as I'm aware. The GT4 just gains the clock.

Do you mind if I ask how you arranged for Topaz to perform the Paint Correction, Full PPF and Ceramic Coat prior to collecting the car from the OPC. Is this something that the OPC arranged on your behalf and you will be paying the OPC, or something that you arranged, in which case are the OPC comfortable with the car going to Topaz and coming back again.
Can I be cheeky and ask how much the Topaz work cost?
