As the assumed tariff is 10%, why does the retail price go up 10%?

So Porsche pays AG full UK price before UK VAT and car tax and therefore makes no profit on new car sales, really?
Porsche UK imports car. They pay UK gov't 10% import duty on the price they pay Porsche Germany. If Porsche UK want to keep the % margin they make the same, they increase the retail price by 10%. VAT then gets added on top of that.

It may be that in time Porsche UK decides it does not want to pass through the full impact of the import duty to buyers (eg because they find they are selling fewer cars), or that Porsche Germany decides the same and agrees to drop the wholesale price it charges Porsche UK, but clearly at the moment they've decided they want to be able to pass the impact of import duties through to end customers.

I suspect what will happen is individual dealers will discount a bit more if they find volumes are being hit, but IMV unlikely that will happen on GT cars where demand outstrips supply.

Has anybody ordered PTS on either the GT4 or Spyder?
I went into my OPC on Saturday and was told it wasn’t available...
I was told the same.

My OPC told me a customer needs really good buying history with the OPC to be able to order either.

Gentian looks pretty good though.

Lots of high res pics here if your thinking about it!

In nicely lit, post processed media images, sure!

In typically dull British weather, will look like any other dark blue, I would think. Rather dreary. All subjective of course - apart from the fact that the images you posted are definitely best-case scenario and not representative of how the colour will look normally!

I am no photography expert, but im pretty sure the photos are very representive of the true colour, in natural lighting conditions.

Take the time to download the orginal pics and let me know what you think.

I just asked about PTS and was told it’s not an option on this years allocation.

I locked my GT4 yesterday in the exact same way (except I have the cheapo brakes wink ).

Gentian certainly changes wildly in different lighting, but in a very cool slightly understated way....

Roll on Nov.....

Meanwhile a man who thinks he is Churchill the politician is proving to be about as effective as Churchill the dog from the insurance ad.
Good line!
Well if he fails then Corbyn propped up by the SNP won’t take long to rid the country of German car dealerships. I recall he admires the economics of Venezuela. Take your pick BREXIT or Corbyn the only two games in town.

Could be a good time to be in cash

You only have to look at them for about a picosecond to see they're high quality images from a pro photographer and that the lighting has been managed.

I'm not saying the paint will never look good, but that it's a best case scenario. Can't see the need to be defensive about it. I had a couple of Guards cars that looked fantastic in some light, utter crap in other light. I'd be confident that Gentian colour will look pretty generic doom blue on a dull winter's day.

It already looks quite different and a lot duller on a wet summer day in the pic from Goodwood.

Are you keeping both ? if so what are your thoughts on usage when the GT4 and when the Spyder ?
Are you looking at the GT4 for track days ?

The 981 Spyder is a keeper for me. 3 1/2 years, 3 Euro tours, 22k miles, Spa, Nurburgring, Goodwood, etc......it’s been a great adventure.... can’t really think of a better car for me.
I’m a roof off guy whenever possible, so if it’s not raining I’m in the Spyder (or my 987 BS gen 2).
But In 30 years of driving I’ve never had a hard top sports car.... hence the GT4.

Not sure exactly sure how I will use it, but probably whenever the weather is a bit miserable, and of course the odd track day.

It could be a stepping stone to a GT3, or may be it will be a keeper too.... and I can stop thinking about buying the next car.

Let’s see..... :-)
