define best? best for what?

track? GT4

best of value? S probably.
Noise? GT4 or a 981.

For a daily I’ve just ordered a 2.0 718 Cayman PDK with about 4K of options. It really depends what you want. I tried 718 2.0, 718 T and 718 S - all on extended test drives. All were very accomplished, but none was night and day better hence I went with the lowest cost option.

what is your daily car? no point getting the 2.0T if your daily car is also a 2.0T etc.

if budget allows GTS, if not S I would say! or look at an older 981 S for the 3.4.

718 Cayman (2.0 T) will sit along side my Golf R (2.0 T) and Forester XT (2.0 T)

I meant the OP.

I went from MK3 Leon Cupra (2.0T 420PS) to a 981 Cayman S. I tried the 718 2.0T and 2.5T but didn't really excite me that much.

my 3.4 is now running race headers so it sounds insane.

I went with those too, less the auto-wipers; have yet to find a car where that technology works well.

Auto wipers on my 981 are excellent - totally recommended. The system on my wife's Focus is OK but not as sensitive or flexible as the Porsche system.

Don't know about the 718 but on the 981 if you don't have auto wipers like mine didn't you get somebody with PIWIS and it can be enabled (not sure about the non-s models but the S,GTS all came with the sensors installed whether you specced it or not)

Cayman T with audio delete, buckets, alcantara dash. Great second car.

Base with rear parking sensors, bigger fuel tank and cruise. That’s it, nothing else required, great car.

It would take a brave person to spec PCM delete given the likely effect on resale, but I like your style. That's exactly what I would order if I was interested in an F4T 718, plus I'd go for a manual gearbox.

I think it would limit your potential pool of buyers, hence it's likely to affect resale. Not just no nav, no music/DAB/reversing camera either.

I'd certainly spec a T that way, but not many other people would want it like that.

IMHO smile

The PCM radio signal in my Cayman R is so st I don’t think it will be much different.

Does the entire 718 range now come with GPF so no more pops and bangs?
