Yes, a 997.2 GT3 RS
Gonna gave a tough time finding one of those!https://www.pistonheads.com/buy/listing/9615454
For half a million quid .... for that 4.0 or
£150K+ for a 3.8 RS.... if you can find one...
The point is that there isn’t a ready supply of reasonably priced cars.... that you can actually use and you aren’t paying mileage premium for.... there is a reason you don’t reallly see many 997.2 GT3 or RS on track for example.
Last of the Mezgers, still carries clout.

The positioning of the GT4 RS in the hierarchy is going to be the most interesting aspect.
RS is reserved for ‘As fast and as good as we can possibly make it’ but we know this won’t be true, because the 992 GT3 will be faster.... so then what’s the point of an RS GT4... unless it’s a super limited numbered run out... in which case it could well be a super duper thing.
And then there’s the pricing for a super duper RS .... Clearly there will be a price gap to fill between 718 GT4 and 992 GT3.... but are people really willing to spend between base list of range between 80k-135k... you’ll be well into 991.2 GT3 money and that will be faster.... as would a 991.1 RS (albeit 4 or 5 years)
It’s going to need to have the kitchen sink thrown at it:
-50kg
992 double wishbone front end?
Revised multi-link rear end?
Carbon fibre Body panels?
450ps
Yep, the positioning is the interesting thing to me too, and I can't see it being radically different to the non-RS under the skin.RS is reserved for ‘As fast and as good as we can possibly make it’ but we know this won’t be true, because the 992 GT3 will be faster.... so then what’s the point of an RS GT4... unless it’s a super limited numbered run out... in which case it could well be a super duper thing.

I think it'll be a great car but unobtainable.

JZM have sold a couple of 3.8 RS’s for around £165k recently...they are becoming scarce in RHD. A few went to Asia a few years ago and people that have them love them. £150K+ for a 3.8 RS.... if you can find one...

Beautiful pictures. Does the 3.8 have extended rear wing mounts?
Cheers.Yes they are 997 cup car mounts machined slightly at the back to fit with the standard wing blade.
Heaven knows what additional aero impact it makes - however the key benefit is rear visibility and being able to see whether the plain BMW behind you has a Kojak with a Kodak
As much as i cant wait for the 4RS, i cant help thinking that they have missed the boat now with the imminent release 992 GT3!
Its clear that what with COVID, they delayed the release of the 4RS.
As usual, and is solely IMO..... alot of GT3 Owners will have their GT3 delivered then the 4RS will have to be spec'd!
Can you imagine the sheer stress endured at having to take delivery of a 992 GT3 then spec your 4RS therafter!
