Interesting announcement from Porsche today.
The announcement was about electrification, but the comments around 718 were promising.
718 will have a full electric version available from 2025. But this mill run alongside ICE 718 for the medium term, until 718 goes solely electric.
So it sounds like ICE 718 still has a few years of life left in it!
Just a follow up on this: https://www.motor1.com/news/657059/porsche-signifi...The announcement was about electrification, but the comments around 718 were promising.

"Lutz Meschke also said the 718 electric replacements due around 2025 will also be up to 15 percent more expensive. The zero-emission Boxster and Cayman will replace the ICE models from day one."
So it seems we only have a couple of years left....
Maybe just the translation then? Definitely says in this clip that they will run alongside for the medium term.

I was really pleased to pick my GT4 RS up today. It has been a long wait. Straight in the trailer for PPF
I spoke yesterday with RPM Technik and they do now offer the Surface Transforms for the steel braked GT4 RS. The kit is £12,680 + VAT for bells, rotors, spacers and pads. Fitting is £500 + VAT. The lady I spoke with said that the discs are the same as on the 991 GT3 RS.
Fronts are 410mm X 36mm. Rears are 400mm X 32mm. Pads are Pagid RSC1.

Gentian really suits it especially with Silver wheels. The Blue interior matches perfectly with the exterior as well. You've spec'd it beautifully IMO.
I'm considering fitting STs to mine at some point although baulking at paying £15k for them. Will wait to see how I get on with the standard Steels before I decide either way.
I was told yesterday by the guy who sets my cars up that the GT4 RS has adjustable castor pucks which I wasn't aware of.

Few more shots of the 4RS with Manthey Performance Kit being tested at Zolder.
Showcase of the signature aerodiscs of the Manthey Performance Kit, here at Zolder in back to back testing on the GT4 RS, with and without.
The aerodiscs on the rear wheels reduce turbulence at the rear, and help to generate more downforce at the rear axle, which allows the rear wing to be set to a lower angle of attack —
A positive effect on aerodynamic efficiency, in short more rear-end stability without sacrificing top speed.
Wearing Weissach Pack Magnesium wheels in neodyme, focus here is on the new massive new rear wing… taking inspiration from 992 GT3 MR wing

That rear wing looks even more hideous, the wheel discs look plain daft on a road car,do you think average joe would feel the benefit, surely just another means of turning a few more bucks for some one,Hot wheels comes to mindShowcase of the signature aerodiscs of the Manthey Performance Kit, here at Zolder in back to back testing on the GT4 RS, with and without.

Relatable. Excellent dinner from my local favourite Bangladeshi restaurant last night. He who is without blame etc..
For you, there may be merit in all that wheel disc nonsense, but most owners will never push close to that, I’m sure. Lovely business model though. By a GT car and exit through the MR ‘gift shop’.
The looks are controversial, for sure…. But since Senna, AMG Black Series and G80 M3/4… elegant has gone out the window!
As for the value/benefit of some of the components… I can imagine that this will be really expensive if you do the full package… well into 991 RS territory… so you’d have to be pretty dedicated to this platform! Is that PC enough? Haha.

The Manthey bits for the 4RS which interests me ends with the Coilovers. Really looking forward to see what spring rates they use. I'm guessing they will lower them by 10Nm/mm front and rear to make it more compliant on the Ring.
Just a hunch which is very prone for failure judging by past performance

Good disclaimer line there.Just a hunch which is very prone for failure judging by past performance

Ooh yes, a small increase in aerodynamic efficiency will gain 0.Xs (if even that rather than 0.0X) that will help get pole position/fastest lap on the next trackday....... A positive effect on aerodynamic efficiency, in short more rear-end stability without sacrificing top speed.

Maybe Porsche wil come with a more 'smooth' example without the big wing but with another solution, not for racing but Touring and produce the Porsche Cayman GT4 RS TouringAs for the value/benefit of some of the components… I can imagine that this will be really expensive if you do the full package… well into 991 RS territory… so you’d have to be pretty dedicated to this platform!
