Interesting ....what do you think of the single mass flywheel ?

Have you any thoughts on a final drive mod ?
(Gain acceleration in each gear but then potentially lose time with an extra gear change ?)
The SMFW is fabulous - it makes a responsive engine even more so and gear changes are as slick as. It's awesome.

I've got no issues with the gearing of the car. The SMFW and exhaust changes mean it flies through the gears more than fast enough for me and the road, and it's also good for motorway cruising if required. On track I won't be chasing lap times so any changes to the drivetrain are of no interest to me. It's my only car so it needs to be an all rounder to a certain extent, although on the sportier side of things, obviously!

I'm of the opinion that if you don't like the gearing on a GT4 you should probably buy a GT3 instead...

Latest spy pic from the US, and they're claiming the reveal date will be June 21st - same as the GT3 Touring apparently...

It looks like centrelock wheels are going to be fitted, plus the rear quarter window intake system and it seems that the rear silencer is the same as the regular GT4 - at least externally. The 3rd rear brake light also seems to have been moved to the boot spoiler, I assume because of the higher rear wing:

I booked this car a long time ago. I have some earlier ones I will keep but this will be my last. Given the typical cycle for the model. (Say 7 years from one generation to another) then the n/a ICE period will be fairly well done I suspect. I will also be too old anyway.

While I am hopeful they will do something about the appearance I doubt it. Even the GT3 is not beautiful compared to the simple lines of my 997RS.

Should be good for a few track weeks in Europe when I do factory pickup and some good Sunday dawn runs on the autobahn before the greens put limits on that too.

There is no point to it of course. I just like the things and have had many adventures in them. OH not a fan ,and in truth they are not the right choice for a weekend cruise with a passenger.

Next Wednesday has also been mentioned in the 992 GT3 thread. I guess we'll soon find out!

Yep, looks pretty much as predicted and it apparently has the new GT3 manual-lookjng PDK lever.

Shame about the centrelocks frown

Saw one last week traveling north on the 405 downtown LA. Couldn’t work out what it was at first, then saw the spy shots.

It looked pretty good on the freeway!

Looks like the prototypes have wheel arch vents a la GT3 RS, which are missing on that render

No front wheel arch vents, no swan neck wing and the incorrect style of rear quarter window vent.

Other than that it's spot on! laugh
