Just had a quote of 950 from my OPC!

From a quick search on PH I can see it used to be around 750. Has it gone up that much or am I being....

Anyone else had their 2nd service done and for how much?

Think my 981 S from OPC was between 950-1600. The 950 didn't include plugs though and mine needed it (4 year 40k).

OPC Cambridge was the best priced.

According to the Porsche Menu pricing, at 4 years it should be £975 which includes service, additional 4 year checks, change spark plugs and brake fluid change:

https://www.porsche.com/uk/accessoriesandservice/p...

Think mine was a little less than that but it was done a few months ago so will have to check.

Just had mine done this week - 2nd Service, Spark plugs, Additional ancillary check, Drive Belt Check, Brake Fluid Change + MOT = a pint shy of £1500. I got 2 quotes from 2 centres, which ended up similar for all the work required, so then it was down to dates.
The 2 dealerships are not participating the Clear Service Pricing Scheme that Steve has linked to, so spark plugs, extra checks are an additional charge to the service cost.

Drives beautifully again though.
Car is 4 years old in December. 20600miles. 17900 of them driven by me. Wonderful.

This is what really bothers me about the Porsche servicing system Tyrone. The old menu system was very messy because there would be a price for a service (about £575 for a 4 year) and then optional prices for spark plugs (£375), brake fluid (£120), drive belt (£75?), air filter (£75?), etc. The latter were not really 'optional' so it was daft to list them separately! It appears that some centres still use that system but up the price of the main service to the new price which is £975 for 4 years and hence you end up with a £1500 bill!

Yet that page I linked to, which is marketed as 'transparent pricing' by Porsche gives the all in price for each service. As I read it, the price of £975 includes a 4 year service, spark plugs and brake fluid. If spark plugs were extra, surely the separate price would need to be shown on that page. And evidence that the brake fluid is included is shown by the line that says something like, 'a brake fluid change outside the normal service interval is £120'.

In the OP's case I would be clarifying what the the £950 quote includes and showing them the Porsche price list. However, I guess that some will use the get out of......we don't participate in that scheme!

Your right Steve, the new price guide includes everything required as I queried this for the Macan. Can believe you paid £1500 for a £975 service Ty.

That is the line, yep. Unfortunately that is what happens in a franchise model, and yep some of us are caught by it, postcode lottery.
For me there isn't a participating dealer, that i have a relationship with, that is close enough or convenient enough or had suitable dates.
Maybe next time i'll plan further ahead... I'm not allocation hunting, so ultimately should just look for the next deal at that point in time.

Further this - I'm just re-reading the Clear Service pricing policy.
I'm not sure sure that those additional items are actually included in the service price. If anything the document is very UNCLEAR.

The table shows that you have the service which you get the fixed price for... then there are additional items which are performed at the intervals.

I hear what you're saying Tyrone but that doesn't excuse them from ripping you off by choosing some prices from the new menu and some from the old one (which is my guess of what they've done). Definitely worth a letter to Porsche customers services to clarify (no pun intended) things IMO.

I have just booked my Cayman GTS in for early January for its 2nd service. Car will be 4 years old in May but it is coming up on 20k miles since it’s first service at 2 years old.

I have been quoted £975 and this definitely includes spark plugs and brake fluid as I asked specifically....

Ouch the plugs puts the price right up. I was lucky then that OPC did the 4yr service on mine early to meet the time you wouldn't get stung for a service buying approved used. I think I was lucky as well with the tyres. The originals would have hit the 6yr old point inside the 2.5yrs approved warranty I ended up with.

Brian, check your service book to see if there's a tick in the spark plug box when they did that service. OPCs are buggers for doing the minimum when prepping a car for sale (probably down to the salesperson looking after their margin). On my previous Cayman R they did a 4 year service before selling it but conveniently didn't bother changing the plugs.

Thanks for the replies and clearing up!

Had it confirmed by OPC that price includes everything so no surprises. Just an expensive trip what with a 2 year warranty extension too.

£1188.98 was my 4year service cost, that included oil bag, 1L bottle of oil and some window cleaner, I bought my service + MOT forward early so the car was not subjected to the salt that's put on the roads this time of year, OPC was colchester

My Cayman R had the 8 year service a few weeks back at Colchester OPC (very local to me) but I had to negotiate the price as they aren't in the Transparent Servicing scheme. They matched Tonbridge OPC who are in the scheme and the pricing included brake fluid change, plugs, oil bag, etc. Saved me a few hundred just by asking. I was prepared to take it to Tonbridge OPC if they didn't price match it (I bought the car from Tonbridge OPC, but all work I've had done is at Colchester since owning the car).

Which is why you need to find somewhere on the fixed price servicing plan...
